Should Delve Stay?

All I want is a way to run delves indefinitely without ever having to go near maps ever again or some kind of endgame content where I can work towards something with all of the gear and currency I have accumulated over the years. This 3 month reset cycle is getting old and repetitive.

Make Sulphite a tradeable item? You could probably easily afford to buy it from Delve returns, given they stat remotely similar, instead of running maps.

Burnout occurs in every game when players play it for a long time, no matter how great the game is. PoE held your rapt attention for two years and that's a pretty darn good record, right? It's a great game, you're just burned out on it, that's all.

Go play something really different. It's like having a seven-course meal - You need a sorbet in-between courses to cleans your palate and prepare you for the next delightful plate. Or something like that... :)

MMO's, especially, suffer from this problem, since long-term play is very much encouraged. I've seen too many instances of players making a quick judgement due to "burnout" and selling or cancelling their accounts, only to return months, sometimes just weeks, later. Sometimes even years later. (I returned to Everquest twice, WoW once and D3 three times on three different platforms... Absences all due to burnout.)
Still needs tweaking, darkness is really stupid.

Its like they had a great idea and the annoying dev made his changes. "How can i make this unfun?" is his philosophy.
Yes!!

My opinion, even if I know no one cares :)

Yes.

But with a few changes.

During story, gives a "first kill" sulphite reward to every zone boss. Like 5 sulphite to Hillock, 5 to fire fury, up to 500 to act 10 kitava. It's a one time deal per character. Make Niko appear in town with the option to send him to the hideout after the HO creation.
Then in map, put sulphite node in the boss arena/area, with current value (or a value, but don't forget multiple boss in the same map, running T3 iceberg should not become the best map to farm!).

Then, add an Azurite cost for a new upgrade called "Digging", which make Niko dig to monster level 70 (instead of 61), or maybe more => reroll will have easy access to lvl70 delve. Also, revert the 1 mine by char "fix" (I prefer if each character have their own mine)

So, no "disruption" from normal gameplay (you don't have to click the node). Amount of sulphite could be altered easily if value are too high/low.

I really don't want a "10% zone have sulphite node" patch note, it's sad. Not being able to do 5 minutes delve after 5 act will s...

I also have a good idea for Einhar return, linked to fosils/animals/no net, but I start a thread about it in suggestion soon.

Ho! I feel like Delve should have been an extension, not a league contents. Delve can allow player to
a) reroll without doing the story
b) catchup with boss level if underlevel
c) replace map contents to prevent burnout.
It need just a few tweaking, but don't remove delving cost!

I say no.

A lot of people who looked forward to it as an alternative to mapping, which it really is not given the mapping required to sustain deep delving.

I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of the positive feedback has been from players who have not been particularly active for months at a time and are just enjoying the game again more than the actual delving mechanic.

That's not to say I didn't find anything appealing, but the package as a whole just doesn't feel great enough to warrant the extensive work to implement it into core, at least for me.

Infinite dungeon to explore? -- Potential

Having to follow something that restricts my movement location, not so fun.

Spending more time farming extraneous resources instead of actually exploring... no bueno.

A crafting system that feigns superiority but in reality is barely an alternative to chaos rolling....

But ultimately it feels like they took a potentially great idea (infinite dungeon) and marred it with time sinks.

This x1000
We won't get a vote but my vote would be no, not without major changes. They need to completely re-evaluate access and cost to the mines, change the rewards available, remove sulphite from maps and make the mines self-sustainable, etc. Otherwise this will just be another bolt-on piece of content you end up mostly ignoring. I mean, if we have to grind this much during the league it was introduced can you imagine how bad it will be when they do their "10%" thing adding it to core? At that rate what would be the fucking point?

So, yeah, that's a NO from me. Great potential fucked up by small thinking.

It is kinda related - question in therad is "should it stay?" and all players share their point of view. So am i and because of my particular situation my point of view is kinda unique.

I think you're just projecting your frustration here. You're basically saying "if I can't have it, then no one should". It is unfortunate that you are experiencing a problem with delve but I hope tech support can resolve it. Please be patient and try to participate in solving the problem by providing them details when they ask for them.

To me Delve also made whole game very very unstable and thats are factors behind my decision. Its not just "i cannot enter it so should noone". Everyone can experience it while league is on, i dont have to, im not crying - like some ppl during Bestiary - "end this before time, end this nao" etc. Im saying it should not get into core game because whole game become like a bomb - i dont know when exackly it will go off.

Honestly, you cannot expect a developer to spend hundreds/thousands of man hours (money) optimizing a game for one persons rig/laptop. Accept some responsibility for the situation yourself. Thousands and thousands of players are playing Delve either with no issues or random crashes every now then which isn't so bad for such a large content update.

Companies can't continue to optimize games for old hardware period; if they would do that then there would never be any improvements and the gaming industry would stagnate and a lot of folks would find other entertainment options to spend their money on and then the industry would slowly die out completely.

Do some work yourself. Troubleshoot which component is causing the issue. Do you have all of the new lighting option on? Maybe your video card cant handle it period. What is your processor? An old single core? Old dual core? Maybe(Definately) you need to save some cash up and buy or build a new rig. Playing on a laptop? Fuck laptops... I don't care what anybody says on this. They're pieces of shit comparatively for gaming.

Whole point is... Take some responsibility for this yourself along with getting the support team to help you.

Neither of the two previous leagues have stayed. Incursion will return in 3 months, but in what form we dont know yet. Legacy league (the most popular league to date) was pulled entirely as being "too complex".

Was integrating Legacy ever even on the table? I seem to recall it was known to be a one-time thing from the very beginning. GGG doesn't want to make access to past league uniques too easy. I also think the popularity of the league was due to the access to those uniques and not because the mechanics were particularly interesting.

legacy was the best thing ever and should've obviously put into core. yet, the thing is that ggg hates standard and making legacy standard would've made loads of people playing that one instead of starting from scratch in their stupid temp leagues. having fun is not allowed in this game. oh and all you people saying delve is the best league ever (lol no, it's not even a league, it's an expansion that should've simply been put into core right away instead of wasting time with this temp league bullshit) are clearly noobs who haven't seen the opportunity to choose whatever league flavours you liked at will!!!

Ummm... if Legacy was introduced into core then it would be in the leagues as well. Duh... >.>

I don't like to wait. I don't like forcing people to wait for me. And you can't portal out if you're in the middle of two nodes in the mine. So please do something about trading before adding it into core, but not an auction house, please.

Thanks, knew I could count on you.
Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.
The only way to improve trading when you cant go to your hideout is......you guessed it, making it automatic. Which will never happen. So you'll never get a better trading experience. Gotta accept the truth.
