How is it that chain is worth currency found in 100s of hours of playing the game?

And I see people buying Kaom's for 50 exalts. I just don't understand where all that comes from?

I have been wondering the same myself. I've been leveling characters (as currency items tend to drop more when you're within level range) and I've not even SEEN an exalt yet. With all my currencies converted, I'm looking at MAYBE 4 Exalts.

I seriously have no clue how people are getting 35 exalts to trade for Kaom's Heart. It's unfathomable to me.

My advice: take one day off from playing and just do one day of bartering. Buy stuff cheap and sell it more expensive.

I did that today, I was piss-poor but I had a few uniques that I had accumulated by buying them relatively cheap. And I'm not talking about uniques like Kaom's or Lioneye's Glare, more like Silverbranch, Queen's Decree, that kinda stuff.

Don't sell your items on impulse. If you feel you don't get what you want for it, just hold on to it. Eventually, you will get what price you set in your mind. Patience is the one virtue of a good merchant.

All in all today I made like 40 chaos orbs worth of profit and I just started out with 5 or 6 uniques, the most valuable among those was probably Deshret's Vise.

Simple fact is that the game is too cheap...and that sucks.
