How to get rich?

I know, this is kind of a noob question and probably shouldn't be asked from someone with my playtime in PoE. But maybe just because of my playtime and the fact that I never got rich, it should:

How do I get rich? How can anyone own 30+ exalteds and buy an Item for it, or use 1200 fusings on a 6 socket just a month after the last wipe?

I played PoE CB for about 5 month between december 11 and may 12. I now play OB since it came out. How much do I play? Well thats hard to tell. I play nearly every day since OB now, between I guess 2 to 6 hours a day. I do 70+ maps or level new characters. I didn't play that much in my CB time, but I played quiet a lot, did Maelstrom-Runs with serveral characters.
In all this time I dropped by myself:
0 mirror
2 exalted
0 divine
1 gcp
1 5-link
0 6-link

So how the fuck can anyone get that rich, when it's not possible to drop that amount of orbs I mentioned above (well maybe you can, playing 24/7?)? By selling items? Well it seems I just don't drop things that people buy. Most items I offer (ig or here) no one wants to have. But these are the best I have (and don't use myself). I maybe do not recognize the correct value of every item I drop and maybe vendored some stuff, that could have brought in quite a bit, but I'm sure, I'm not that dumb, that this happens often. It just seems that items like the ones I see, when I look around the forums, just won't ever show up in one of my games. So what else...? Trying to buy good stuff cheap und selling it? Well I sometims do that, but I don't want to play a economy simulation here. Further you don't get a lot of cheap resellable items without constantly scanning tradechannel or forum.
So what can I really do, to ever be able to buy stuff worth 30 exalted, or craft a 6-link myself? Play 24/7? Do I just need to have that luck dropping a kamos heart or stuff like that?

If you really are running 70+ maps why are you not selling white items?

no one seems to buy 70-73 whites
i just get really lucky on qgems and rares to get exalts

Well with 70+ I mean lvl 71, 72. White stuff from here won't get sold a lot I quess.

Seems I also have bad luck with quality gems. Only dropped 3 with a higher value than 10: Enuring Cry 11, Enduring Cry 13, Burning Arrow 17. Far from 30 exalted :).

my experience so far:

2 5-link (1 from lucky fusing roll)

I have levelled 2 toons to 62 and a bunch to the 20-40's. I'm just not sure how these other people manage to do it. I was running around with 120 / 80 MF/item drop for a while and it didn't make a huge difference. There is obviously some trick to the trade that neither you nor I know.

Easy. Just be lucky enough to chance a Kaom's Heart. It's only a 1-in-500 shot.

some people are propably just buying currency for real money, lame...
one thing i noticed is that group play makes currency and good currency drop alot more.
If you see people like kripp, for example, he almost always plays with a bunch of other guys.
others might be using multibox to increase the quantity and quality of stuff dropped.
and in the end you also need some luck i guess, some people are just blessed with misfortune

other question why is it important to be rich in poe ? makes no sense to me

orbs are for crafting not to jerk off on them watching your stashpage this sint d3 with epeen profiles

btw getting rich in this game is no secret get a portal gem some rarity lots of quantity farm cruel sell everything for alt orbs 60 alts a h 1 gcp so you make 1 exalt in 5 h

and plz dont sugegst this chaos farm shit thing its a pain to get those rings and ammys the alteration method is safe and mindnumbing

It's not about stacking orbs in the stash. But you need to be that rich to buy the good items, when you don't drop them. You need to be rich to be able to spent enough fusings to get the 6-link. So I dont really understand what it is, that you dont understand. :)
