Crashing, crashing and more crashing since 3.3

From the stickies, which you should read:

Any client crashes or disconnects are sent to us automatically. Report them if you have steps to reproduce the crash, but if you’re not sure why you crashed, then we’ll be investigating the default crash report ourselves.

This is basically the same setup I have. I'm not sure about the vsync, dynamic res, and network settings though.

I think GGG gets all this information automatically when POE starts after a crash as well. They seem to have missed a bunch of crashes with this latest patch but hopefully they will find a fix soon.

There was a guy PM'd me earlier saying my particular issue might be an old power supply and so unrelated to POE specifically (aside from POE performance-wise being a shitshow) but I've tried running some benchmark tests to see if it would shutdown my PC and it doesn't. IDK what to think anymore honestly, I don't see any obvious patterns from process of elimination and every common issue I investigate turns out to be not applicable in my case.

Still hoping to find a workaround soon, the week is nearly half over :(

I saw earlier that you mentioned your machine does some automatic restarts while playing.
I would guess you have an overheating issue somewhere, most probably the CPU.
I had the exact same behaviour a couple years ago (only with POE), and i got rid of it by replacing my CPU fan.
But yeah, i suggest you check the temperature of your CPU while playing, especially if it's an AMD.

I've actually already tried this. I had hardware monitor log the heat state and fan state of the various components to a file while playing POE and checked it after the crash. None of the components ever exceeded 67 degrees c, and usually they were at least a little lower than that if not significantly lower. AFAIK 67 is a pretty normal temp, and I play POE on low graphics using a GTX 970. The CPU's are i7 and IIRC didn't get over 50% utilization either.

Any other ideas are welcome, I'm considering heading over to best buy for a new power supply but nothing I've seen suggests to me that's the cause. Bluescreens don't make sense with power supply issues and I don't think freezing does either, usually you'd just get a shutdown or a restart (which I also get, but it's kind of random which type of failure I get). My issue does seem to be slightly different from others.

I had it on 10 second intervals so maybe I'll try again on 1s intervals and see if there's a sudden spike, though I'm not sure it makes sense for a component to suddenly rise 20-30 degrees celsius within a span of <10s.

EDIT: made some power settings changes, moved PC plug directly into the outlet instead of off the power strip, and cleared some dust and moved some things around for ventilation. If the issue persists I'll buy a new power supply in the morning (theyre only like 70$ I guess) and see if that helps. Otherwise I'll be at the mercy of GGG's bugfix team unfortunately. At this point I'm kind of hoping it's the power supply, at least that would be an easy fix.

EDIT 2: ran super hyper through all content for a couple hours and no crashes, could have been a power supply issue or dust or something, I'll wait and see but my POE seems ok for now
my evasion is so high i only insta rip sometimes

Bug Fixes:
People were using cyclone for actual melee builds, so we nerfed it and made blade vortex. Also, we went ahead and made cyclone great for CoC casters while we were at it.

Do any of you guys have a dual (or more) monitor setup ?
I have a friend with only 1 monitor and he has not had any crashes.

One-monitor not-PC-Master-Race player here. Crashing all the same.

I've been crashing a fair amount since 3.3 release, however today it has been non stop crashes and "unexpected disconnection" ... all day.
It wasn't nearly this bad yesterday, and nothing on my end has changed as far as I'm aware.
Currently it is completely unplayable.
Game still crashing non stop...crashing on alva location :/

Today my client has been working fine. No more crashes. Thank god!

The last patch obviously did something good. Thank you for that!

And to everybody still having problems - hang in there, I feel with you. Don't smash your hardware :)
My game CTD-ed 2 times in the temple and 1 time in the lab. I had to stop playing before I broke something.

Ah, alright - at least something.

So far, the crashes are still happening, into the double digits at the moment and have lost count with no progress in singling out the cause.

Don't think it's our fault.
Checked my logs, PoE crashed in almost 2years only 8 times, still a lot, but over all that time and up to 3-4h playtime per day it's almost nothing.
Now I can hope not to crash once per hour :(

Would like to see some small info from GGG here like "Hey, we see it, we try to fix it" but..
...
3 crashes in 3min on temple of atzoatl...
experiencing an ungodly amount of crashes as well mainly focused on incursion, in maps AFTER completing an incursion and in it.
Temple crashes are by far the most frequent, in some cases up to 4and 5 crashes per temple barely managing even complete it

single monitor, drivers up to date etc etc
