Very concerned.

Well,
After much consideration, no more supporter packs. I really wanted that Mayan/Aztec themed swag but seriously. Why the f#$@ would I pay for a supporter pack when the entire GGG staff is now comfortably retired? Why would I hand out my shekels when I know GGG recieved an enormous buy out. Strange that I was just talking to a friend yesterday and mentioned, "what happens when people stop buying supporter packs?" I found out pretty damn fast. Boss |

" Yeah, I was also thinking about buying a pack. No reason to now. And if they want to charge for anything, good bye. |

It doesn't bother me that Tencent is now major holder of GGG.
With more money in place for them, POE could get better development and those teething issues with performance will likely be resolved in shorter time. And having multiple gender for each ascendancy class looks like a possible thing in the near future. If things really go the way of Blizzard, there will always be another game to jump to. Contrary to people who advocate that they are no longer going to support GGG by buying support packs, it probably will accelerate GGG into a company that they don't want to see. Afterall, if Chris is true to his words in the announcement (GGG has full control and they just need to do annual revenue reporting to Tencent), when it comes to the time where they need to do financial reporting, and the spreadsheet looks like shit, things will definitely go ugly.
Excerpt of what Chris said
Is Grinding Gear Games becoming part of Tencent?
Grinding Gear Games is still an independently-run company in New Zealand. All of its developers still work for Grinding Gear Games and have not become Tencent employees. The founders (Chris, Jonathan and Erik) are still running the company, just like we have been for the last 11 years. Going forward, we will have financial reporting obligations to Tencent but this will have minimal impact on our philosophy and operations. I will just adopt a wait and see attitude towards this. ![]() |

Glad this announcement dropped before Sin & Innocence MTX were released for purchase, because I was thinking of blowing hundreds of dollars getting that stuff. Now I'm extremely hesitant, and any interest for Incursion just got obliterated. You got a lot of money for your baby though, right, GGG? I suppose I can't blame you, because you're all set for life. Who knows, maybe you can have your cake, and eat it too.

support wise It's easy to just not buy another pack. Game-wise all you can do is hope the game doesn't become a steaming turd of shitty balls.

" Yea but if they don't get donation support then its 100% they will have to monetize someway... They put loyal fans into a bad situation and it feels like a slap in the face for sure. Hope it was worth it. |

Welp, they made it easy for me not to support with bestiary, now the decision has been made for me again, indefinitely.
