pretty disgusting.

ironically, PT would agree with a lot of things you dont agree with

things like currency/mapping 'nerfs'

last time Ive checked, he certainly wasnt an instant gratification fan. the game being grindy or content being gated, was never a problem he expressed. neither was mods or other stuff non-pertaining to the game.

why don't you let the late great veteran live ?

and yes, he was right, but not about [most of] the stuff youre talking about.

I watched his stream a lot he hated map sustainability (or lack of more to the point). His point was the game was too easy not that you should be bored while playing it.

Again, the title is not necessarily about his views but more about GGGs atrocious design decisions in a meme format that people can understand.

And yes, the game should be harder, not grindier. Unfortunately GGG has taken the easy and boring path of grind. When you think about late game you don't think anymore "Oh man, I am really going to have to level my character up for this!" but instead you think "Oh man, it will take me at least 150 hours of repetitive boring unrewarding grind to get to the final boss!"
Uploaded an awesome Exsanguinate Freeze Explosion build on the forums - https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3508506
so basically, a cry for attention catered to least common denominator. got it.

game was always about grind. a game like poe can never be 'hard' per se because its simply a function of number of hours you put in. once you get gear needed as well as you build, its not 'hard' anymore. you can make it 'hard' via arbitrary handicaps, but you can do it with any game imaginable in history, so its not really a barometer.

complaining about a boss in poe being about life level and not skill level implies content in this game was ever skill based. it never, ever was. the sooner you get that illusion out of your system, the better. this game never, ever, was about skill really. about the most skill in poe is knowledge of game mechanics and risk management (in hardcore)

the reason why PT left the game was its ridiculous power creep and the meat and potatoes of the game- mapping - being trivialized and approaching as close to d3 as possible (and after he left it became even more ridiculous)

Which is the point. In the old days maps were more of a challange and there were less of them. Basicaly white maps are fodder and yellow are white and red are yellow. I don't mind unique maps being hard to get but the rest are required not to be bored.
Why can't fools just quit and go away... why do we need an I quit post. No one cares dude just leave.

Dude just leave no one cares if you quit. More people are playing than ever b4 and all you do is sit there and cry cause the game is not made exactly for you. ba bye now.
I sort of hope when GGG grows tired of shit like this they settle on a certain build and drop rate, take their servers offline and give you all the finger while releasing it for solo play.

Then you can bitch to yourself or learn how to modify what you were given so you can FINALLY have this perfect fucking thing you want.

If the game were ever slated for offline play, people would just cheat. Sure it's rewarding for half a minute to get your next upgrade, but when you're sitting on a 6 link already, the only upgrades are basically mirror quality stuff, which you're never going to get on your own without such a level of grinding that it becomes meaningless. So you just skip the middle man and cheat.

That being said, Path of Exile is already perfectly fine with its drop rates for offline play, it just takes longer (People play without trading all the time, SSF isn't a new concept even if it is a newer mechanic in the game). People that whine about drop rates are usually whining about one of two things:

1. RNG gated access to content
2. The game is a grind

RNG gated access to content I can understand being a complaint. I didn't like grinding low level areas to get atziri fragments back in the day. Now it's much easier with corrupted maps and divination cards. Back then and now, if you wanted to make the RNG gated part go away, there was trade. So unless you're completely SSF this can be negligible.

The second one I have significantly less sympathy for. The game *is* supposed to be a grind. The basic objective is to spend a couple hours mindlessly killing stuff while watching TV (no joke, it's the Chris Wilson TV meta). I do have a single caveat as it applies to offline play though -- the grind is tailored to people that have completely unreasonable amounts of time to play. Which leaves the majority of the players in the dirt if they ever want to reach level 100.

If the game were made completely single player I think it would be far easier to let people hit max level to appeal to a wider audience, rather than the shock and awe of top streamers. That being said, nothing in the game requires you to hit level 100, so it's still more of a bragging point than an actual functional benefit.

I'm just going to go ahead and stop you at cut out the middle man and cheat. I still play Diablo 2 very often, solo and bnet. I enjoy the game, the gear and the challenge. I'm not one of those rob yourself of the journey gamers that are so common now.

I implore you to actually *read* the post. But on the topic of cheating, there is nothing wrong with cheating as long as it isn't against the ToS (which it most certainly is in POE) and you are not playing competitively (which is basically the ladder based race to 100, you're part of it whether you want to be or not). I view your stance against cheating not only elitist, but masochistic. People generally cheat in single player games because they are not *enjoying* the experience (a possible exception is you want to understand a mechanic better, there may be a few others). Multiplayer though is a whole different beast (where you have griefing etc).
Elitest and masochistic, I'll take it thanks.

I did actually read the entire post, my brain just got caught up on the part where you think I should cheat because others do, perhaps even yourself when it doesn't break rules. I make rules for myself man. Call it a code if you will, ethics if you are feeling froggy.

Standards in life, never in league.
