Hardest build to die with in Hardcore?

Max Block Gladiator is hard to kill. There are some builds out there (e.g. mine, "Bleedquaker").

" +1 I would recommend having a look at this guy's character, Newjam. https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Hizakite/characters The only piece of gear which actually costs anything is the Soul Taker, 40-50 c. You can use Jack, the Axe until you save up for a Soul Taker. Jack is ~2c. The Death's Door boots are ~70c but are absolutely not necessary, you can make do with a random pair of boots with some movement speed and life on them. The reason he uses Death's Door is to grind maps as mindlessly as possible, because corrupting blood packs will kill you in a few seconds if you don't pay attention, and the bleed immunity takes care of that. The BoR is 1c and takes care of your 6-link. The shield is ~3c. The other items are random 1-3c uniques. This character has up to 79% block and spell block, decent armor and 7,4k life. This means you can farm up to tier 15 maps with your eyes closed. The only thing you have to really pay attention for is corrupting blood packs (if you don't have Death's Door), a few map bosses with oneshot slam attacks (Dominus in Villa and Palace) and a few map bosses with heavy damage over time which can't be blocked (Torture Chamber, Orchard and Plaza). Torture Chamber, Orchard and Plaza are some of the shittiest maps out there and you don't want them added to your atlas, and Vila and Palace aren't exactly popular in HC either. What's the downside? Damage is low. Just about 65k unflasked, which is nothing by "modern" build standards. However, if you want to farm XP safely in maps and don't hunt bosses, this is the smoothest, safest build I can think of. One of its significant HC advantages is being afk friendly. You won't get killed due to random disconnects and shit like that. All this being said and done, if that's your first HC character, you will die. Do not expect anything else, or you'll be disappointed. edit: oops, he apparently switched from BoR to Belly. Well, he was using a Bringer of Rain up until level 98. You have to be realistic about these things. Logen Ninefingers Last edited by Bars#2689 on Mar 23, 2018, 9:06:09 AM

" Not with that attitude, I believe in myself! And besides I'll be disappointed no matter what. Even if it's my 500th HC character, I'll be disappointed that I had 499 HC characters before that and I still died, probably even more disappointed than I would be with my 1st HC character, but I'll be disappointed a lot by both nonetheless I only play 2-3 hours a day max so I don't have time to level up more chars, if I spend a few weeks levelling to level 70 and then I die... I won't start again for sure So that's why I must ensure I'm using THE tankiest build possible, every little defence on a build makes a difference, and so far the tankiest ones I've found are rf mana guardian, which is too expensive, the build I linked and that max block gladiator which seems kinda unreliable to me, 79% block ain't 100%, you only need to get hit once by a big one shot ability to die, even if it had 99.9% block, you might block 999 abilities, but that 1 will eventually find you and one shot you. Perma IC, 80% resists and >10k ehp is better imo cuz it's harder to get oneshot which is what I suppose I'll die from if I'm careful not to take too much dps, it also has immunity to elemental status ailments Last edited by FnTsTiC#0026 on Mar 23, 2018, 3:54:48 PM

Id say one of the max (83% now :D) block builds that regen life or es on block to as i have made both life and es on block versions (dont know what one was better) but you can still die easy if rng fails and or you get hit with status
The only thing is block chars cannot do somethings (namely uul+chay) because your dps is to low to keep up with the timer... i have done shaper guardians on mine but i use portals to do them since im taking lots of hits because low dps and over this amount of time rng fails so you do die I still think my blocker char is one of my best chars its not really *up to date* i dont think with new items but if you want a peek @ https://www.pathofexile.com/account/view-profile/Lynerus/characters Char: Riwigo Now saying all this... this doesnt really kick in till you have the spell block node and high amounts of block (and most likely all of your gear or close to it) also the gear for this is not cheap either as it uses soul taker surrender and a 4% corrupted block ammy (this thing is like 1-3ex if you can find one) Also my build may be a bit low on life (think i have 5.8k hp at 92?) and a bit higher on dps (hit over 100k while mapping but in hideout its like 89k i think) Last edited by Lynerus#6363 on Mar 23, 2018, 3:57:32 PM

Max Block Spectre Necromancer. Cheap, clears very good, dont die at all (if you wont shield charge in every pack like a moron)

This is going to sound funny but try to master playing an evasion based character. Once you do that, hardly anything will kill you afterward no matter what you play.

I think it really depends on what you want to play.
If you're going to play melee, I would suggest jugg > champion > gladiator. I think those three have a great mix of offensive and defensive talents with minimal gear investment. Easy access to armor, endurance charges, fortify, and a high life pool, make them an easy pick. Personally, I think one of the safest options would be some sort of mind over matter hierophant. Pick a spell, put it on a totem, and let them do the work. Grab mind over matter, get gear with life and mana on it, and you're going to become pretty tanky. Place totems and run around avoiding damage. Last edited by mustash#7409 on Mar 23, 2018, 4:14:48 PM

All these suggestions so far are wrong. Currency flipper is the safest build by far.

Have fun starting over, no matter what you chose. Optional masochistic mode is optional and masochistic.
