Hey, easy currency making method exposed
" I don't know if they don't contribute, but every poor person I know made terrible decisions. They spend thousands of dollars a year on alcohol, Starbucks, clothes they never wear, they get loans instead of paying off a cheap car or getting lower limit credit cards, they don't pay $100 a month for insurance then complain when a $50,000 medical bill comes in, or they spent 80 thousand dollars on a business master's degree without shopping around for cheaper schools or switching to something useful. Wealth is 90% luck and 10% personal responsibility. Any financial adviser who plans out people's retirement will tell you most people don't live beneath their means even if it means they'll drain their bank accounts in two years. |

" it was fair. what is arguably unfair is that whoever wrote the wiki page put up false information, if you feel that strongly about it I suggest you take it up with him. 20% quality gem recipe was in the game for how long? since day 1? How long until someone made it public? A year? 2 years? but people knew. Suffix/prefix stripping was in the game for a year? more? before it became public knowledge. Cannot roll attack + caster mods guaranteeing a paragon +1 gem roll from an exalt, in the game again over a year, ppl knew, but it wasnt widely known. Diviners strongbox mod "drops additional div cards from this area", ppl who knew where the op div cards dropped spammed those areas for the boxes and got rich, who told them where the good cards dropped? Wasnt the devs, it was community shared information. Are you aware theres people in this game who are making maybe 4 mirrors a week at the start of a league? do you know how theyre doing it? I have a vague idea how theyre doing it. Am I bitter that theyre making more money a week than I am making in 3 months? No, this is the kind of game poe is, its a knowledge game. If you work out an insane build, a craft, a way to get from A to B, to get more xp, to get more loot, to get more currency, then well done, thats called playing the game. The devs dont give us premade builds, we are left to work this all out ourselves, how to play the game, if we chose to share what we find out or not is left to our discretion. This information has been out since harbinger, ppl in my now ex guild have streamed it, Ive personally explained it to ppl in streams, in youtube vid comments when I saw people trying to ancient headhunters and messing it up because their belts were too high ilvl giving them a far wider scope to fail, I wouldnt be surprised if ive spoken about it in the forums back then. It was no secret, there was no reason to keep it a secret, it was a small time hustle to take a 5c orb and a 1c shield to make a 10c shield, I probably did it about 5 times for the lols, said thats cute and left it be. There was a thread about this very method in gameplay help forum that was posted like a week ago, if ppl were paying attention they would have known. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

" I am struggling to find an appropriate way to respond to the very specific wording of this post. I would be curious as to the share of people in the PoE community who heavily play the market game, the Path of Trading game, if you will. Not ones who casually trade, but the ones who have an obvious passion for it, as you clearly do. Because, and you are not going to like this, this exploit does not actually affect the gameplay of PoE. Not even a tiny, tiny bit. For a casual trader, it could actually benefit them, especially if they are selling low ilvl uniques! But for you, as we see here, your trade game is shattered when, and I quote "those of us who didn't know about it were put at a severe disadvantage compared to those who did know". I guess, in the end, I just don't understand the depths of despair that gets thrown around in a game where trading theoretically should be a means to an end towards PLAYING THE GAME, not a core alternative concept. P.S. Easy there, big fella, you got a lot of Removed By Support in your posts, you are approaching critical mass for a Probation I expect. |

" He didn't say the poor don't contribute. He just said the rich are rich because they add greater value to society. He also says "mostly". Of course there are some rich people who got rich illegally with drugs or something similar, or lucky people who won lotteries or get handed inheritance, but the vast majority of the wealthy are wealthy because they add greater value to society. You want how to use a spreadsheet? Then you can become an accountant. That's a small problem. You want to lead and influence others towards a common goal? Then become a manager or leader in a business. That's a greater skillset. You want to transport people across the world? Start an airline business. You want to connect everyone in the world? Start a social media platform. Rich just get rich by solving bigger and more important problems. If you're not as rich as you'd like, just go solve more problems for people (and charge for it). |

I saw absolutely nothing wrong in that video. It makes complete sense to me to utilize advanced game knowledge to increase their gains in a virtual world.
People these days really don't seem to grasp the concept of exploit, and like the OP some want to believe that if something doesn't conform to their specific mantra it's wrong. The video shows how having in depth knowledge of working mechanics can greatly accelerate your gain of wealth. An exploit is doing something that was never intended, like duplicating items by exploiting a flaw in the programming or forcing a trade to be accepted when the other player denied it on their game. Yep, totally over league play.

" lol, mate I was paying people 10c, 20c+ at times for those shields. People were putting them up for 1 fusing and I was instantly barging in saying wtb your 1 fuse item, ill pay you 10c for it. I was only upcycling the shields for about 3 days but during that time I think I got probably 60%+ of the market myself by just kicking down the door instantly on the woop and offering them 20x what they had listed it for while everyone else was hoping to get away with paying as little as possible. I think one particularly suspicious individual managed to claw about 55 chaos out of me for one after 3 days of sweet talking him with no reply. There was a lot of good banter had between myself and the titi shield sellers, and between myself and the lyco shield flippers who seemed to be making a small fortune off me as I aggressively overpayed and undersold to keep the machine ticking over. Ultimately the sellers got way more for their shields than they were asking for, the flippers got a cut of everything I was making when I essentially just moved production to direct bulk supply to them, and the end result was the market price of lycos steadily dropped under the weight of the influx and anyone buying those shields got to pay less for their item than they would have done if no one was doing it. It was all fun and games, win/win/win/win, until for the most petty of reasons that I will not go into here my now ex guild leader decided to ask lighty to put out that video in order to intentionally destroy it for everyone involved. some of you will celebrate that, he did it for deluded internal guild politics reasons, not for you, not to be a hero to the poor, however there will be those that see it as a triumph for the everyman over the evil elites. But really, what does this change for them? the market will now adjust, its already adjusting, they wont now profit from this, the people who raced lvl8 zana farming harbinger will benefit from the rise in the ancient orbs, if you want ancient orbs you will lose because now they will cost you double, triple, who knows where it will end. ultimately now it moves on, another kind of item crafter or flipper will make the moneys, it wont be them, it wont be the everymen, those ppl will just move on to being bitter about that next guy while they stay exactly where they are now. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Only thing that bothered me was that it took a 5 minute video to tell us what two lines of text would have.

" SOOOOO True. It's basically just crafting using the currency provided while knowing the impacts of item level. Yep, totally over league play.
