Hey, easy currency making method exposed

My problem is that the wiki and the way this mechanic works has a HUGE disconnect and it is unfair to fairly new players (such as myself) that did NOT know about this.

your actual problem is that you rely on wikis.

Now those SAME people are whining that their money making method is broken because people are wise now and, selling ancient orbs and low ilvl titucus for what it is actually worth.

wise, eh? knowledge =/ wisdom.
actual worth? its a freaking virtual economy in a videogame. and even in the economies of the "real" world, there isnt any "actual" worth other than things being worth what people are willing to pay for them.

noone is forcing you to sell orbs/ titucus or buying lycosideas.

This just proves how rotten a community POE actually has. This game has a shitty community and it is noted. I have seen better communities on a pig farm. Great way to welcome new people into the game people. brilliant..

wrong. games with all the knowledge available have the worst "communities" as everyone feels entitled to anything.
try a pub raid in WoW.
try some dota2/ LoL pubs.
its worse.
and dont even get me started on "community". you want "community"? join a religion or some club. want "community" in a game, join a friendly guild or even better: set an example and start your own.
but dont act like merely playing a vdeogame made you part of a community - it doesnt.

drama and secrecy like this is why i love this game, and this is coming from a ssf-pleb who hasnt in 5 years of playing this game crafted a single item of significance or even found a kaoms. every day i fail at this game, i mess up - but i learn from that and it makes me giggle and gives me an understanding of what a brilliantly complex game this is. there is always something left to discover.
this is a game where not everything is common sense and public knowledge, spread to the braindead masses of drones via YT/ guides reddit etc.
brings me back to my days in vanilla WoW when my entire guild would walk around naked in town only to keep items secret from other players, hell no we didnt "share" our hard-earned strategies with just anyone, why the f*ck would we? and look where WoW is now - a cheap copy of an actual game - its formulaic more than anything.

i can genuinely respect the players who dwelve deep into this game and uncover crazy mechanics - and who NOT share them.

this whole f*cking environment of wikis, guides, reddit, YT and twitch is killing videogames in general.
well-made games are something you can discover, on your own. they challenge you, your creativity and intellect. PoE is such a game.

go look up what a "cargo-cult" is on your beloved wikis....because that is how most people these days go through the motions of pretending to play a game.

best thing about this all is:
lycosidae is just some crap shield ... how many of these do you even need to peddle to "stack up exalts"?

LOL. Whut? It's actually the linchpin of one of the strongest MS builds out there. Some crap shield... priceless.

please, check my account. i am dirt-poor. i have done three trades in my ~5 years of playing this game: first trade was me getting scammed (i think? i was a total n00b back then, lol), two other trades were me giving away random uniques that cluttered my stash, lol.
again: i am SSF. maybe you too should give that a try.

i genuinely dont care for this whole thing as it doesnt concern me, again AGAIN: SSF here.
what i do care about is entitled people who act as if an advantage of knowledge in a complex rpg constituted "social injustice" and was scandalous - it just isnt.

you made a deliberate decision to play THIS very game over the pletora of other videogames. this game is known to be complex and inaccessible and punishing. so how can you now complain about this? thats like suing a tobacco-company in the year 2018, lol...

the thing about videogames in this day and age:
everybody wants to experience the "cool" and "elitists" games, but noone is willing to actually commit.
everybody wants to feel accomplished and skillful, without genuinely trying to "get good" - as that would lead to failure in most cases.
everybody wants to know everything, be an expert - but not by discovering stuff themself, by experimenting with and "studying" the mechanics of a game - but just by consuming the ready-made bits of information on the wikis, reddit, etc.

thats why so many games these days have this despicable pseudo-complexity, like tacked-on irrelevant rpg-systems: so people can delude themselves into thinking they were playing some complex game, when they just arent.

this mentality has utterly destroyed once great games such as dota or WoW. shame to see developers lower their standards just to please the plebs and have millions of delussional, entitled casuals fool around with their game and buy a hat once in a while...
this game, PoE is one of the last bastions of trully challenging and complex "elitists" games and its brilliant because of this.

The poor always complain about the rich, not realizing that their wealth is directly proportional to the value they contribute to the society, mostly.

Oh really? you sir are a stuck up lunatic. Please.. explain how the poor are poor because they do not contribute? go ahead.. I will wait for your answer.

I don't know if they don't contribute, but every poor person I know made terrible decisions. They spend thousands of dollars a year on alcohol, Starbucks, clothes they never wear, they get loans instead of paying off a cheap car or getting lower limit credit cards, they don't pay $100 a month for insurance then complain when a $50,000 medical bill comes in, or they spent 80 thousand dollars on a business master's degree without shopping around for cheaper schools or switching to something useful.

-Beer in a year would total ~$1k.
-The coffee purchased during a workweek would come up to slightly over ~$1.6k over the year, assuming they ONLY went to starbucks and didn't just buy a coffee maker and cut their costs in half by purchasing pre-ground from their local shop.

- $2000 loan @ 31.24%, 60-month (5 year) repayment period for complete loan repayment of slightly over $ 2000...is a "terrible decision". That loan allows for STUPIDLY EASY credit card debit shuffling. I'm not going to go over balance-transfer type credit cards either, since they're basically a loan of time to repay.

Probably because whatever injury they sustained...isn't actually worth that much. You're paying ~$400-$800 out of pocket without insurance to deal with anything that doesn't occur on a regular basis. You can't complain about someone saving $800 and bitch about them spending $100 in drinks over a month.

ALSO, average cost of health care in the US a year is ~$5k-7k...I'm sure not spending anything on beer of coffee would cover that, but then again...if you're working a job that is dangerous enough to warrant that level of insurance THE COMPANY HAS A BETTER, CHEAPER, HEALTH CARE PLAN REVOLVING AROUND THE WORK YOU DO...so you're wasting your money paying for your own. Drink your fucking coffee, pay for your company healthcare.

[quote"Imaginaerum"]lower limit credit cards
Credit card limits are based on your credit worthiness...if they're so fucking irresponsible to begin with then getting one of these high-limit cards wouldn't be possible, so your straw-man example of a poor person has pretty good spending habits and credit score/history. Which means that $1k of beer or coffee wouldn't faze them, and isn't going to cause their utilization to blow their banks into the sky...

[quote"Imaginaerum"]or they spent 80 thousand dollars on a business master's degree without shopping around for cheaper schools or switching to something useful.
...MBA average income in a year $45k -> 100k+.

And if you're going for an MBA to open your own business then quite frankly taking on debit and knowing how to manage it not only is a requirement, but you just studied how to DO that.

Totally can't spare $6 for a coffee or $20 for an 18-pack of beer with THAT kind of money...

I'd suggest you stop thinking people are making "terrible decisions" when you've failed to learn how to do basic research and clearly know next to nothing about what actually makes a poor person poor...
