I don't think it should be possible but I rather push a button than lose hours/exalts worth of xp progression.

I was being sarcastic, but the common name exchange is 'softcore scrub' for 'logout tryhard', can't call someone that anymore if everyone logouts. And that's a problem.

Sure you can, just not in this game, or D3 (I'll take your word for that one, don't know much about it), and it wasn't really the point, I suppose it's relevant to the thread but wasn't what were were talking about. Casual banter aside, I really wouldn't like to see people start logging out to save their items.

Balance patch was hilarious overall, nerf doomfletch becuase it's too powerful but will give you 8 link rare items to boost up the damage x3 to roflstomp all the content again LOL.

Completely disagree on this point (which is an interesting argument in itself). I don't believe you are really thinking this through.

If anything, it discourages these people because their actual game knowledge (specific to PoE) is historically low. These guys flip currency and unique items because the market is established and predictable. Anyone can learn how to do this. As such, they are "good" at it because they do it longer and harder than everyone else hence the term "Chinese gold farmers". They slave over it and usually only engage in flipping, they aren't actually "playing the game" in the historical sense.

Pricing a good rare isn't a monotonous slave function. It takes fundamental game knowledge and knowledge of the meta, especially with extraordinary items like we are seeing now. If anything this will deal a huge blow to their business as most of these people just simply do not have the knowledge to even enter the market. If we see some of these item combinations become pseudo "BiS" items which they already are for many builds/skills, then I think it will only be good for the game in relation to the shady "black market" / 3rd party stuff that goes on behind the scenes that violates the ToS.

chaos : ex was appx 30:1 for a week... and down to 20:1 for a full weekend.

skins of the loyal were cheap and +2 skins were lopsidedly pricey. mirror shards were 5:1 ex (i even bought a few for 4!)

so yeah, i'm totalllllllly full of shit. i totallllllllly RMT'd 250 ex to leave it sit on harbinger for 2 months to then sit in a remove-only tab on standard. because that's what people do. /s

edit: harbinger was imo the easiest league ever to make currency in.

Flipping in this game is hilariously easy if you understand how prices are going to change. Like seriously how many people believed that the 25:1 chaos:exalt ratio would stay? Then boom, 80+ chaos orbs for an exalt and tons of profit.

I've never done it and never will but it is not that hard to believe how certain people can easily become supremely rich in a week or so without leaving their hideouts.

honestly, i was a little astonished at how cheap people were selling mirror shards for.

it didn't even make sense.
