beating the dead horse poe.trade AH

I think the simple solution is three options each with soft and hardcore versions...

Standard: AH and unlimited trading enable
SSF: no trading no party's
Team trade: partying and trading amoung coop partners allowed while in a party when item drops after which items bind on account but can be sold to npcs

Pick your play style

I think that might be the only solution.

I'm pro AH myself and i tried arguing with people who oppose it. I found that it's impossible due to us simply perceiving things differently.

From their perspective it's already too easy to gear and the economy is on it's last breath. No wonder they oppose AH, it will only make things worse for them.

While from my perspective the game is thriving. The economy is healthy, and it's not too easy to gear. I feel like poe.trade made the game better, and if that's the case then it's only logical that AH will make it even better.

I don't think that there can even be a compromise since moving towards either directing means moving in the opposite direction for one of the sides. The only way is to divide the population even further.

There is price scamming as mentioned in this thread with people posting items for very low prices with no intent to actually sell at that price.

No to an auction house please, it would ruin things just like it did in D3.

The simple fix has already been suggested: If you post for a price, then the buyer should have ability to buy at that price and the item is removed from the seller for the posted price whether the user is AFK, offline or whatever
.

The fix would remove the player to player personal interaction, but I can't see any other way.

Also, maybe give the seller the option if they want to have auto sell enabled and a filter on poe.trade so you can look only at auto sellers. The scammers would be filtered out this way.

(bold italic part) that is literally what we mean by an AH.
the name Auction House is taken from the mainstream MMORPG. call it whatever you want. Auction House, Trade Post, Store, Boutique wtv.

basically you should not be able to post an item for a low price without the intent of selling and instead to scam people.
I think a good solution would be to allow players to turn one or more of their stash tabs into an in-game store, and list all the stores on the notice board like parties. Players can sell items while afk, and buyers don't have to deal with a bunch of ignores/autoresponds before finding someone to actually trade with. No search function so buyers have to browse the shops to find the right piece/best deal and sellers have to advertise what they have in their shop name, so it helps GGG's "too easy to get op gear" concerns. Also addresses price fixing since if you list a price you have to accept it. I remember a similar system working very well in Ragnarok Online, and browsing the shops was kind of fun in and of itself even when you weren't looking for anything specific. I feel like with the notice board and the api already in place this would not be too difficult to implement and it would address many of both GGG and the player base's concerns.

Yup. It was suggested it back in 2013.
