Yeah.. No! Auction house in an ARPG is a horrible idea, partly why it always gets removed from them at some point, too exploitable on almost all games especially when people start making AH snipe bots that auto buy items then list them higher. Will turn into Black Desert Online when you try to buy an item that just went up and it's already sold before you humanly even can click the buy button.

You are right, but sadly these simple people don't even realize that. They think they suddenly can start selling all of their stuff without an issue. They can go to bed and wake up and everything will have magically sold. The current issues on PoE.trade with the handful of pricefixers will be peanuts with what would happen with a fully automated AH. And then the same simple minds will come back here and demand other stuff. It's hilarious if it wasn't so pathetic.

There are alternatives to a 'fully automated AH', but they are always ignored by the people who think the current system is 'fine'.

I'm open to alternatives, because I definately don't think the current system is fine. I think the system was great before they allowed Premium tabs to interact with trading. From that point on the cancer on PoE.trade started for real.

Funny, D3 was exactly the same with the quick snipe of items and I never had any problems selling/buying stuff. But what do I know, I obviously have no experience with AH unlike the "experts" here, lmao

Did you ever even realize there wasn't much demand for items in D3? Probably not because of your child reply, items were and are incredibly easy to obtain on D3, game doesn't and never did need a trading system. PoE on the other hand doesn't guarantee as many drops as Diablo 3, 1 greater rift on high tier drops legendaries and set items like crazy and there is also multiple ways of obtaining those items, here in PoE you can't even compare it to D3's drop rates, ours is shit and which is why there is an incredible amount more of demand for items especially since our items have tiers for stats and we got less ways of obtaining items and can't reroll stats or replace them with new ones for low costs (even on legendaries and set items) lIke you can in D3. which means with an auction house things will sell out really fast especially if we got bots sniping items.
Though yeah you're the expert (though you clearly don't know shit about both games).

Also @everyone nobody said the current
trade system is fine, auction house just isn't the problem solver, just a way to create more problems.

JUST GOING TO POINT OUT, before the AH's were removed, there was demand for items, very high demand for certain ones, items did not rain from the skies until they turned it into a console game. However due to Diablo's itemization many items were very less desired just because of the random mods it got, where as there counterparts that rolled actually desired mods were highly demanded, in many cases worth actual $$$.

There is price scamming as mentioned in this thread with people posting items for very low prices with no intent to actually sell at that price.

No to an auction house please, it would ruin things just like it did in D3.

The simple fix has already been suggested: If you post for a price, then the buyer should have ability to buy at that price and the item is removed from the seller for the posted price whether the user is AFK, offline or whatever.

The fix would remove the player to player personal interaction, but I can't see any other way.

Also, maybe give the seller the option if they want to have auto sell enabled and a filter on poe.trade so you can look only at auto sellers. The scammers would be filtered out this way.

This.

Sure, if you put an item for far too cheap in instant-b/o AH, you'll lose it instantly. With current trading system, you will get spammed by snipers, so you can actually figure that something is wrong, and increase your price instead.
But since instant b/o will remove price fixing cancer, determining price for your item will be much easier task.

And i rather allow instant sniping for cheap items, than allow all that shit with AFK traders, price fixers, inability to trade while in lab, inability to buy essences quickly, etc. Sniping wont ruin an economy, it's a simple fact that you cant understand.

Easy and convenient trading wont a ruin a game. The bad game design and boring gameplay will do it. Easy trading will just hasten the process of ruination for bad game (like it was with D3). But if your game is good and solid, diverse and balanced WITH instant trading in mind, it will still fluorish.

Normal players like me posted all very simple and ssolid arguments, why instant buyout is good, and how current trading in PoE is flawed. I believe, that 90% of those, who dont listen to these argument and continues to say "NO to AH" are actually abusing current trading system to scam other players, and only less that ~10% are actually dont want to trade at all.

Hi everyone, I don't understand why GGG don't do anything about poe.trade, is 3th party program ffs!! 3th party!!! U have to alt tab of t game witch u playing and have to use different program to find items for character u playing and than go back to game and do all t whisper/player interaction to get item u want... it's like u play need for speed and u need to go to gumtree to get new car... I don't get why GGG didn't done anything about it in those years, well except trade chat;) it's fking year 2017 lol GGG should wake up and skip som mtx for couple of months and do some proper in game trading system. I don't care if it'll b AH/market place/vendor/bazaar or whatever... there is a load of decent suggestions in forums... But it's a GGG who is in charge here and it's looks like they just give a big shite about it.. All we can do is argue with each other and on t end hit that alt+tab take deep breath and hope t next trade will b ok;)

because this way they can sell more shit pet and shit items to players ;)
Whether you like AH or not, the AH ruined D3 argument not really accurate

D3 was ruined because the game they delivered at launch was rubbish. You can level to max level in a day, & the only way to process is gears. AH just amplified the issue. What happened when you can't get good loot, you shop for it in AH?

The main reason why AH was taken off was many players wanted the joy of finding their own loot, not farming currency to buy items from AH or others. I doesn't feel good.

It was removed & moved to self found design, as farming for curreny is not the spirit of a loot base aRPG, the developers words.

I think the simple solution is three options each with soft and hardcore versions...

Standard: AH and unlimited trading enable
SSF: no trading no party's
Team trade: partying and trading amoung coop partners allowed while in a party when item drops after which items bind on account but can be sold to npcs
