beating the dead horse poe.trade AH
I see threads every 2 hours about poe.trade and the need for an auction house and I just end up saying "another one of these uggghhhhh" but then I figured, there must be a reason why one of these pops up so often, so I decided to grab a stick and get my wack at the dead horse.
this issue with people putting items on the poe.trade for stupidly low prices without the intention of selling the item with "no answer", "/afk", or "/dnd" and flood the market with so much invalid buy orders is a form of exploitation of the system with the intent of scamming unsuspecting or new players. Some might say this is just manipulating the market to increase or decrease the prices... sure it is, but it's not a "legal" way to do it. it is in all points and facts EXPLOIT for the purpose of scamming. the "legit" way to manipulate the market prices would be to buy all or most of the said item at it's regular price then put them back up for 2x the price. (this is one way of many to legitimately manipulate the market) I understand GGG's views on trade and currency, but at this point, the direction of the game and how the economy has developed it might be time to review this phylosophy and consider adding an auction house, or some form of trading mechanism that can be a compromise of both views GGG's and the traditional AH. whatever it is, it has to 1- allow market manipulation through legitimate ways 2- prevent scamming of new or unsuspecting players. ok i'm done who wants this stick to hit the horse? - 1 fusing orb Last bumped on Sep 26, 2017, 7:17:19 PM

Don't think that this is a dead horse... it's not. Trade has gone through a number of changes recently. Xbox has a different trade system. China has a different trade system. It's not a stretch to think that the global PC version will get some changes to its trade system as well.
But be careful what you wish for. |

The horse is old, sick, injured and in need of several operations. But it isn't dead.
Do we need trading improvements? Yes. Do we need a system that limits exploits/price fixing? Yes. Do we need an AH in form of auctions? Hell no. Bring me some coffee and I'll bring you a smile.

" AH doesn't have to mean literally "AUCTION HOUSE" where there are bids on starting price. It's a common term, thanks to WoW. (Eye rolls). You could use term "broker" (couple MMORPG use this term) or "bazaar" from EQ1 or "trading market" from other games or whatever else that only have buyout option. Back to topic...Yes, we do need AH, broker, bazaar, trading market plz. Fuck poetrade. K thx. ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by moedexter#5239 on Sep 11, 2017, 1:27:11 PM

the solution is a "crossed trade system" wich allow every player to trade without being in the same party or league (get the pm , say yes ,than item and currencies are dispatched ) and it should work only with online players.
have fun (or try to find some in 3.0.....) learning is a painful process ... knowledge is the most deadly weapon.

The only improvement i want to see is players being able to buy straight from your tab when its a price listed item.

In hideout vendor, linked to players 'public' stashes.
No bots (well, reduced bots), no short sale scammers, no need for seller to be present (GGG adds a flag to allow hideout access for trading). Players can buy and sell with less hassle and GGG sells more MTX. Everyone wins. |

I'd settle for Hellgate London's email system.
