Would anyone be able to weigh in on how arc mines compares to icicle mine? I made the switch recently from ice spear mine to pyroclast mine for single target and am liking it, but still using 5L arc mine in a shroud of the lightless for clear dps.

Also, a 5L arc mine comes out at a higher average hit by about 12k in PoB compared to icicle mine, but is this directly comparable? I assume effective dps might be different given that icicle mine uses projectiles and chains?

I was running 5L icicle mine in T16s for quite a while until I got a shroud of the lightless. I feel like icicle with chain is superior for clearing than arc due to arc having poor distance between chains now, as well as icicle shattering everything it kills which is a huge safety net.

Mostly preference I think.

Thanks. I just made the switch from chain to pierce and from inc crit strikes to charged mines, and it feels a lot smoother for clearing. Not sure what the overall dps difference is but the increased throwing speed is very nice.

Hello again Brasolis, thanks for sharing your PoB, I´m trying to paste mine but PoB generate the link but don´t let me share with pastebin, so weird.

Basically my tree it´s the same (currently lvl 92) but with the only modification that in the gem slot between Melding and Overcharged I´m using an Intuitive Leap at least for the moment, I think that it´s a great addition.

My stats are 5105 HP + 2479 ES but they change a bit, I´m testing some configurations.

Also I consider the option of make a tiny respec and take Acrobatics + Phase Acrobatics and some of the nearly nodes, like Herbalism and Hearthseeker beacause I´m feel a bit squishy. What do you think? I also feel squishy because I need to improve my playstyle with miner.

Thanks in advance.

Hey. I'm not sure what you are getting out of intuitive leap between Melding and Overcharged. We can't take Overcharged since the on-kill effects don't work with mines, and I'm already taking the full Melding wheel. Seems like you give up a jewel slot for just Dreamer which seems extremely wasteful.

Also not a fan of acro/phase acro since you lose 30% ES which is a decent chunk, and it's 7 points to get to phase acro which is just too costly in my opinion. If I was playing deadeye I would most likely take it.

I think it's mostly preference though, if you were willing to drop some life/es% off the tree then it's an option. I would most likely drop es nodes, swap to full evasion gear and try and get more life.

Hello again Brasolis,

You are totally right about Intuitive Leap, how can I make this mistake??? I´m taking full Melding wheel right now and removing Overcharged + Intuitive Leap.

These days I´m trying a lot of combinations of gear/tree/gems and I must admit that in that case I also don´t like acro + phase and I´m comign back to the standrd tree of the build.

I have a gear very close to yours in stats with the only exception is that my staff is 5L but I have problems with survivability in high tier maps and blighted maps, again I think that it´s the problem of my skill as miner player. When I finish my work day I give a try to the build again.

Also in the PoB that you provided, help Alira it´s selected, is that right? Or you take the 2 skill points.

Thanks for all your help and time.

Hi guys.. Tomorrowtech's build using Purifying flame. It can be swapped for Glacial cascade with same tree based on preference. Really enjoying this build with "PF" utilizing 2 essence worms with hatred and wrath and a watcher's eye for crit hatred and phys to lightning wrath conversion rolls. This along with conversion to lightning rolled gloves allows us to completely convert pf 100 percent as well as balance out damage types to take advantage of the juicy Explosives expert ascendancy node which adds buffs for each element.

Here is a quick video of T16 Phoenix run. Buffed corrupted map with enfeeble and temp chains. I see many swapping gems for clear like icicle mine and pyroclast for bosses. No need with PF.. its a fanstastic all rounder.

Hey guys, I have been enjoying this build very much.
But how and what should I do if I want to go with the LL route?
Is there a guide for it?
Like what kind of gears do I need and what skills node I need to add? Some help would be much appreciated!
Hi wind'z! Big fan of your miner build, have been playing it since ever! This league i'm having some trouble to follow up your new one and skill choices! Hope we can have more info about your new miner soon! Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

I'm not the OP, but icicle mines and pyroclast mine work very, very well for aoe clear and single target clear, respectively. You can build around those and have zero trouble with the end game content.

Some comments about your build:

- You've only done the first lab at level 67. You can easily do the second and third - pick up pyromaniac and bomb specialist. These will greatly increase your DPS and are probably the single best investment you could make right now to improve your damage output.

- Flasks - you should have anti-bleed and antifreeze flasks - get some (see my character for inspiration).

- You could use more life/ES/both on a lot of your gear, which will help with survival (if that's an issue). We'll assume you're capped on resistances (fix that if not).

- I personally found pierce to be better than chain for icicle mine, but that's personal preference.

- I would choose pyroclast mine over ice spear mine. You can buy a 5L martyr of innocence (https://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Martyr_of_Innocence) for ~55c if you have that to spare, which combined with pyroclast mine will give you huge single target dps. Support gems should be minefield, trap and mine damage, fire penetration, combustion.

- You don't have a CWDT setup. There are several you could use. I personally use CWDT (1), Immortal Call (3), Enfeeble (5), Withering Step (8). Big survivability buff.

- For your icicle mines 5L, I would go with trap and mine damage, minefield, pierce/chain, charged mines. Charged mines especially helps with the sometimes clunky feel of playing a miner.

- Don't forget you can anoint both rings and the amulet - even cheap anointments will give you something useful for now.

Hope this is useful!
Is there an objectively better choice between Martyr of Innocence and Tremor Rod? Currently using pyro in martyr with icicle mine in shroud; when I swap in tremor rod in POB my dps for both skills drops significantly. Not sure whether POB correctly calculates damage and factors in the +2 to gems and level 10 blastchain.

Most staff builds appear to be using tremor rod but I can't work out why. Are there some things you need to do in POB to get the correct dps values?

Gear:

Pantheon? mapping and elder.
this passives can run any mines right?
Thank you Windz, found a

and am rolling along nicely.
