The Illusion of Choice
" No I thought your gear was above mediocre. Also we share similar life nodes through our build and you do have more than me, but my gear has more life on it total. When I called bullshit on you it was because you didn't specify how many life nodes and you made it sound like you had very few, like 3-5. You have 17 life nodes, that's not just a few. The problem is that yes, you have a build that I will believe you in that you can solo with ease, but are all builds like that and how many viable builds total are there. It's subject to a lot of opinion because what is viable boils down to how much shit you're willing to put up with and what you define as viable. Viable to a hardcore player and viable to a default player who doesn't care how much he dies is going to differ dramatically. It also matters as to what is fun. I'm not going to debate that for some, the hardest of challenges brings the greatest of thrills. That's true, but not everyone wants that. Some want a challenge, but they don't need the deck stacked against them twofold in order to be challenged and provide the same experience. I used to love the challenge of this game in closed beta, it felt perfectly balanced and aside from some overpowered builds and paths through the tree it really didn't need to be changed. Along comes open beta and they do their new scaling for act 3 and all of a sudden mobs hit like trucks and stacking life nodes and going all defensive is really the only way to go unless you want to die like crazy or over level everything by 10+ levels. That right there says that something is unbalanced with the passive tree in terms of it's efficiency when scaled with the game. I'm not super hung up about it, if the game loses it's appeal I'll stop playing. I figure why not voice my opinion in the forums, least that will happen is I will get flamed by a bunch of angry neckbeards. |

" There aren't enough choices. You've even said there aren't enough choices. That's not being elitist. That's pointing out the obvious. Being elitist is telling others to go back to wherever. For someone who calls other people elitist pricks, you sure are a hypocrite. Last edited by funshynebare#2742 on Feb 25, 2013, 5:29:19 PM

" you are focusing on numbers to much and not enjoying the actual game that's there in front of you, stop that. Stop being afraid to fail. There is value in loosing every once and a while, you know. |
