Act 10 Kitava fight is absolutely stupid
" Did you die like 120 times and that's why the fight is bad or something? Pretty sure that's what happened. Dys an sohm

Reading this has been hilarious. Its so damn obvious how most of the player base has been just face tanking the game and having gear carry them through everything. Now that we have bosses with attacks you need to actually avoid everyone can't seem to do it. All of the attacks are telegraphed and easy to avoid. I died twice on my first time through, and they were both to his minions, not him. I just didn't have the damage to clear them out fast enough.

Well, i like him, sure it took a while to feel a little bit save and know what he does.
I came there with maybe.. 5 Deaths and afterwards i had like 21 Deaths. With 2.8k Life and lvl 70 almost everything was onehit or close to onehit. But it was fun ... he should stay like this without patching .. bosses get easier by time alone. And the good thing every hero/specc and gear will change the expierence of the fight. Still a lot to learn. Well i guess if you have pretty good gear and are lucky it helps ... i can guess without mapping to farm a bit it might be hard for some undergeared characters. Anyway cool Boss ... i had fun. |

first time encounter. *HC league.
Kitava was dead less than 1 minute.( i didnt count , but this was the feeling :D) (double totem warchief with gear nothing special, 4.2k hp, cap res , tabula + 640% facebreaker ) <-- Thank guggelhupf for the warchief build guide :D In my confusion among the spells and the explosions :D , i stay in the big fire the entire phase which lead me to drink both my instant life flasks (while praying to Karui :D) and visit town to just refill them. (never use them again). At the end , this is the reason i love to play games , especially in HC. The thrill and the intensity they offer. For final boss its was ok. I will agree with the friend that mention the overpowered act 10 mobs which made me doubt about how ready i was for the final fight. In total i think they made a wonderful job with the game. |

" The fight isn't bad. It's just stupidly overtuned. It's a cockblock, at the very very VERY end of a boring ass grind to endgame, where the fun begins. On softcore it's fine. You just corpseexplode yourself onto him until he eventually dies. On my first char I died like 20 times on him. Sometimes the entrance was covered in fire or whatever and I died within a second of entering the arena. I stopped playing hardcore because of lag. I'm not going to be playing hardcore again until Kitava has been modernized. I'm perfectly fine with content being hard. But Kitava comes BEFORE maps. Yet he's like a T10 map boss. Maybe even higher, Idfk. You need to have your gear and spec sorted out before you fight Kitava. Yet, the tools to do that become available to you AFTER fighting Kitava. Unless you're exploiting some broken lineup of skills or had absurd luck back at level 57 with some godtier drops, you won't kill Kitava deathless. He should be hard. But he should be doable with a potato build and potato equipment. He's part of the story, not the endgame. He's more über Atziri than he is Hillock, which would be good if he was optional, endgame content. But he's not. So here we are. Last edited by TheFilthxo#3768 on Aug 26, 2017, 11:07:08 AM

Just did him with my melee Witch. The whole levels before I just flew through the mobs. With all the defense stats I have, I can charge into a group of magic melee mobs and they can't even make a dent. Kitava killed me 72 times, as everything - including the mobs in the heart phase - one-shotted me. The only reason I could actually get him down was Cast on Death I put in at some point.
And to all those people that say l2p (and then don't even know the basics of that fight): no, I don't want to learn to play a single boss I will never see again, never wanted to fight, and especially don't want to gear up for. This is the gate to the endgame, it should be hard, but with better gear eventually a push-over. Right now all it is for everyone but the elitist player is a pure frustration. |

" No, I didn't die that much to Kitava, he telegraphs the hell out of his attacks. What did piss me off is the swarms of adds that appear. The devs couldn't come up with anything more interesting then just filling half the area with adds, really? Then there is the invisible death zone that are phasing in and out of the area. No warning that you are in one, until your health pool starts draining like a beer bong at a frat party. Not to meantion the amount of time it takes to do the fight, it's gets downright boring. But the thing that pissed me off. I had to do that damn fucking shitfest 5 times before it would advance the quest. Kitava would puke his gear and nothing. No advancement in the quest line. Had to go back and do that shitstorm of a fight 5 times in a row, just to get to maps. |

"Do yourself a favor and quit the game. How anyone could die that many times to a boss with easily telegraphed attacks blows my mind. |
