I'm tired of picking up orbs on the ground
" This is actually much more reasonable. I'm not sure what the perandus coins all drop at the same place, but all in separate piles of different sizes tbh lol. " There was that too yeah, that was the beginning of the slippery slope. Well I'm a solo player so I was looking at that with a really distant eye but ... it just seemed like GGG bent the knee. Not sure if that helped them a lot indeed. " Hardcore isn't all about skill, and building a character can been seen as "macro". Btw, have you done high level content outside of meta stuff ? ( you know, like leech, crit, VP or full ES ?) SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

some of the responses are better than evening tv shows..
auto-pickup? YES PLEASE why? because if the game is rich and engaging enough it does not need such cheap 'immersion' techniques to retain the playerbase clicking on lesser currency (because it is what we are talking about - alchemies and up everyone clicks anyway) wont change the economy. noone trades these items anyway! when was the last time any of you '-1' guys bought augmentation orbs? hm? if it is not traded - it has NO impact on economy. and it wont be traded ever because lesser currencies are just that - junk. nice to have but you have 100+ anyway id like to pick these up but it really puts a strain on me, so i leave them behind (that has a mental cost to it as well) again, if creating this kind of 'tension' is a way to retain players then i havent seen anything more stupid in my entire life when we are at it: it should be possible to 'dump all' from the stash into the currency/div/ess tab with one click. these tabs are already p2w, so id like them be even more p2convenience and save me these countless boring 'dump currency, switch tab, dump essences, switch tab, dumb div cards' every few maps. QoL is one of THE worst aspects of POE (probably second only to balance). it is en par with games from 2010 and trying to stop the world and force to believe that this is actually good wont end well |

" My thoughts exactly. Afaik "tradecore" people don't even bother picking up anything less than Alc, but rather trade for their scrolls, alts, etc.. I do pick scrolls, which you need to ID garbage, that sells for alts and chaos recipe... and it's kinda tedious and not really "immersive", tbh. One of the reason I have big fonts (= more clutter) in my loot filter for currencies - to easer click on them. Auto pick up of lesser orbs (even if just scrolls) would not collapse the economy, lol. You guys are aware than if GGG allows auto pickup of scrolls, the next thing that people would demand here is .... auto-pickup the rest of the currency.
And then loot. And there might be many many of them doing so if GGG starts to add auto-pickup scrolls. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" Auto-pickup rest of currency wont change much too. Do you really think that player wont click on that Divine Orb anyway? Auto-pickup for loot is questionable (many games have auto-pickup for currency, but not items). Still, even if they implement such a feature, it wont be gamebreaking too. Remember - your inventory is still very small, and will be filled very quickly, if you let auto-pickup. Most players will disable auto-pickup for items anyway, for that reason. IGN: MortalKombat

There's already a way for you to not have to click and pick up every little scroll and orb off the floor because it's not worth your time: just don't click on them and move on to the next pack.

" But apparently this causes way to much stressed out eye twitching for one to handle. Like I said earlier in this thread or another asinine auto loot thread that popped up in the last few days, hopefully the change to shaped shore meta is to make all maps a little disappointingly annoying for the sole purpose of making them all a little vague in how to clear speed them and semi-clear speed semi-loot oriented would be a feasible option. Instead of people like me who see a scroll 10 steps back and say why bother and move on, if this were to happen as I anticipate, you say "why bother, I'll probably be backtracking in a few more rooms and if not, its a scroll" same as current in non clear speed maps anyway for me. And as I have begun to copy paste my reasoning economically why this would just fuck everything up, I also like to continue to point out that GGG clearly did not design drop rates around people gaining the equivalent of pennies constantly without any or only minimal effort. So they would much rather see people slowly phase out lower currency by ignoring it/having tiered loot filters than bother programming a new loot system that would necessitate drop rates change and in a negative way. Currency would have to drop less often to compensate that everybody would much rather pick up every currency that is auto or semi auto looted per map versus picking up a random unided rare unless they are in the highest of maps as it would compliment speed clearing, and in return items would have to drop less frequently, although to a lesser extent than currency, to prevent massive accumulation of both pure currency and vendoring of trash items/vendor recipes on top of the pure currency being looted with 0 effort. you keep saying that these items people talk about are 'pennies'
they are not. these items have NO VALUE. when was the last time you have traded for augmentations? transmutes? hm? if the answer is 'never' then you entire 'economy based defense' is pointless im as far from the speed clear meta as possible but it is just tedious and annoying to micromanage this all stuff (or ignore the game content). it is 2017 and certain QoL feature are standard. clinging on to 'the good old days' is cool on paper but i doubt anyone would really like to go back to non-touch-screen phones or CRT displays auto (or area) pick-up of things (esp mass items like currency that has no identity on its own) is something that wont destroy a game but will save wrists and eyes of the players unless you think that this clicking somehow is invaluable part of POE experience? if so - then you hold the game in a very low regard |

Why is not picking them up not an option for you guys? Hide them with your loot filter and you'll never know they are there.

why is not making this an option an option for you guys?
if you like it turned off - keep it turned off. but i bet you wont. we had the same exact argument with life bars above monsters. show me one person that does not use them - despite there being a HUGE crowd of 'why, it will kill an immersion' dudes |
