BM vs CI rant
I don't need to pretend anything, I know how it works, and I have been using it for a while, I try all kind of characters, characters with and characters without.
And I know what's what. You clearly don't, you don't even understand how armour actually work .... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" Evasion is useful, because many elemental hits are actually attacks, that can be evaded, the issue is it is tough to rely on that. Armor though is only useful for melees. Because it makes all those trash mobs less annoying, you can basically ignore them. For non-melee it is hardly an issue because they hardly come into contact with them. Armor works really well, or well enough at least, against physical damage, the issue is it doesn't work against anything else. And it is hard to make it work, because of how different spells work. The thing is armor shouldn't work against Elemental Damage, however there should be something that helps and it shouldn't be too hard to get different defenses as a life build, which it is right now. |

" Sadly, many of dangerous endgame abilities are still non-attacks. Also, Evasion suffers from two other problems - diminishing returns (first 10k evasion are ~twice as good in terms of EHP, as next 10k) and RNG-dependance (that makes it useless against very hard hits). Maybe, if endgame content was designed like Uber Izaro, armour and evasion might be much more useful. I've ran Uber lab a lot, and i've played PoE a lot (contrary to what Fruz may claim), and i clearly felt the impact of armour VS Izaro (even though he hits hard), but i didnt felt the impact of armour in maps or VS bosses like Atziri. I also tried using evasion (my Slayer could freely use both armour and evasion), and it felt no better. Blind from stibnite flask was noticeable, but it works regardless of your evasion. I came to sad conclusion, that evasion is OK only because it gets dodge/spell dodge for free. Sure, it's better to have extra 10k evasion that dont have, but when it comes to PRICE you have to "pay" for it, then in most cases, it isnt worth that price, if you already have 10k evasion (which is quite a small number, sadly). Getting different defences isnt that easy as most think. Only if you use some imbalanced build/skill/item, like BLS (that stacks str for both damage and HP), etc., or if those defences come "naturally" like dodge/spell dodge come for evasion - which sucks badly on its own, but it's a bit "compensated with dodge/spell dodge. " No it doesn't, evasion is entropy based past the first strike ... And it's easy to know why you are that biased when looking at your chars .... 1 PF BV, and 3 Hege (crit obv) slayers ... " And sure you missed my CWC MoM berserker, my physical and Voltaxic archers, my Flicker Strike shadow, etc. Yes, i DO like Slayer class, that's why i played him 3 times. I tried making non-crit Slayer, but his damage was pathetic, so i again and again came to using crit - because it's simply BETTER. Just as MoM is better than BM, and CI is better than them all! What's funny about energy shield is that it originally was supposed to have Chaos damage as its achilles heel-- ES would be balanced by ES users having to get more Chaos resist than Armor/Evasion life characters.
now its actually reversed-- With almost all ES users taking CI, its LIFE users that are the one's that have to worry about chaos damage with ES users completely immune to it. |

That's why I said that you were biased. I missed the zerk caster yes ( Based on what again ? Leech, and with VP this time ), and I skipped the non ascended characters as I consider old characters not having been used for a long time not a good basis for balance discussions. " Why should i handicap myself with using weak game mechanics? I dont have time to play 5+ hours per day, and i dont have top-tier PC to handle massive lags in PoE (though i've seen videos where PoE lags even on top-tier PCs). Defences, like Life, ES, MoM, Spell dodge/block, dont matter less when you use leech. Armour and evasion are just too weak, no matter if you use leech or not. If you do, you will just be much stronger than if you dont, that's all. BTW, ES builds can use ES recovery instead of leech - because ES is very strong defence itself, it can be viable even without leech. Armour/evasion cant be viable with using of other OP mechanics, such as leech or Aegis Aurora. I usually play 1 character per league, because i dont have so much time to play two, usually). And i missed a league or two because you know, my gaming experience doesnt end at PoE only, i want to play other games as well. I tried other mechanics. For example, i tried Molten Strike duelist (before Ascendancy), based upon LGoH. He died far too often, as his HP pool and sustain werent enough for what PoE requires. So i rerolled him into archer. My biggest complain with PoE, though, is not its lack of balance and not stupid clearspeed meta. It's its AWFUL performance, that causes lags even on top-tier modern PCs. Even though my PC is far from modern/good, i can play any modern ARPG without lags (Grim Dawn, Van Helsing1-3, Torchlight2, Sacred2, Diablo 3, etc.). PoE is THE ONLY ARPG, that can cause incredible lags, beings almost unplayable in certain situations. How can i play a "kite & run" build in PoE? I cant, because GGG doesnt give a shit about game performance. And please, dont say me "spend 5000$ on modern PC", because all other ARPGs dont force me to do that. I wont buy a new PC for just one game, that wont run perfecly smooth on it anyway. And i cant use 3-rd party tools to remove shitty particle effects, because GGG doesnt allow that. IGN: MortalKombat
