Not worth to pick up ANY items
they should have made the standard league death penalty the loss of one equipped item instead of the loss of exp. This would be just as painful (or more) and would get items out of circulation. As it is, items just keep being found and never being removed, price will eventually be 0 as infinite items is the eventual end state. In HC, all items are 'lost' when characters dies (lost to HC economy) - so that helps level out demand.

" Problem: 99% of all items you find are garbage. Like, LITERALLY garbage. So a melee person who's weapon dissapears might as well quit the game, its going to take forever to get a serviceable replacement. Caster's won't be affected as much, but this would absolutely buttfuck melee. |

" A huge chunk of items you find throughout your journey in Wraeclast are not garbage and can be used very effectively to advance your character(s). You just consider them "garbage" because they dont hold much economic value as there are so many of them on the market. |

" Uh, no. that's absurd. if a melee weapon lacks +Phys damage and +% physical damage, it is shit. Full stop. It has nothing to do with market value: Without those 2 values, and GOOD values, the weapon is literally utterly useless. We're talking over a 200% difference in DPS here. " A melee weapon can be viable with nice AS and crit rolls + some elemental damage. Not all attack builds use physical weapons, you know. And of course, there are caster weapons... Though for physical weapon, you're right. Those 2 mods together have too high impact on item's physical DPS, same could be said about ES item pieces - without good flat ES and %ES they're shit. The funny thing is, that this is the same syndrome that happens in League play. Only for the first week is it worth to pick stuff up. Week two? Strict loot filter time.
The problem really is that GGG has stretched the carrot out too far out. Players no longer believe they will find the good item. Actually most players will tell you straight up: "I won't find shit. I never do. Someone else will find something and I'll just buy it from them." The problem becomes when this is propagated by streamers as the "way to play the game". If you ask most streamers/public/outspoken players they are pretty blunt about it: "Mr. Streamer, how do you get such good gear?" "Well i grind dried lakes for raw currency and six sockets then go to poe.trade" Those who do actually craft and find their own gear simply say: "My results aren't typical. I got really lucky getting this 500 es hubris with less than 50 chaos spam...don't expect the same." Players are actively being discouraged to do anything with their currency other than save it and buy what you want. POE has always been like this, but it seems much worse now as metas become the only/preferred way to play. Ascendancies and other forms of power creep have made this worse. It is not uncommon for a new player to say: "Anyone know a good, cheap build that can do all content?" Why do they ask this? If you break down the question the fundamental issues with POE currently are laid out clearly: 1) Cheap build = Trading in this game sucks ass and so does grinding for loot. So trading is bad and most of the loot is bad (if i play on my own). I want a cheap build because I don't want to trade too much but I also don't want to be locked into dried lakes. 2) Do all content = I just want to level one character because I'm not a fan of leveling. So I just want something that can do everything on the first shot. ^ These are serious issues for most ARPGs. The only reason POE gets away with what they do is because for the most part only gambling addicts really play this game. POE is designed to attract the addict. Prisus, its even not about "fans of leveling" or something. Many people just not have so much time to invest.
They want to experience the game, play all maps, kill all bosses. But they can't afford themselfs to level endless chars (even if they want at heart try different thing) at leages again and again, mindlessly farm for days 1 map, to spend hours on trade (with not always good and honest people, lets say it politly). Game is pretty hard (for newbie). So, people (after few first unpleasant "signals") quicky understand, that with time constrains they just have no right for errors/experiments and other romantic things. Its more punishing, then rewarding. And they go for mega-kill-all-cheap-fast-build-guides and trying their luck in remaking. To get results, win. Winning is fun for people. What other choice they have relisticly? This is human nature and common sense. There is many things/GGG choices that lead to this situatian. As I see it, in general GGG focused/scaled overall game balance/ideas/ethics in favor for super-hardcore minority, who can play no-life-style and always whining how easy content is. And common folk, so to say, casual and semi-casual players were degraded to some proverbial peasants who can only emulate their lords (that what they do). It's actually quite amusing to read these threads, firstly people are saying that it's not worth to pick up items or doing chaos/regalrecipes.. and then they complain because no currency :P

" doomfletch prism : 19C (cheapest) meginords girdle : 1C fill in resistances/hp etc on other gear (try and get phys damage on quiver/gloves/rings/amulet from drops you pick up, else craft it with masters), use tornado shot with lmp/gmp and slower proj + weapon elemental damage (4Link budget) take physical/elemental damage on the tree, life and armour/evasion there you go, budget build that you can clear up to t10 maps at least Last edited by KiKurASiruSaSH#6767 on May 1, 2017, 6:10:43 PM
