thing is that Skin of the Loyal is pretty much the ultimate no-no-life chest piece for a spellcaster
and these are ~1EX, esp if you want the corrupted (no change) one. you do not need anything more heck, im doing T15 on a 5Link. this is the carry power of gem levels and meta stuff (no poison!). i literally couldnt be bothered to take a 6L from my stash and sort out the resists (swap mastercrafts on gloves and jewelry). i literally couldnt care less about it life gear.. life gear is scarce. life gear has prices from the moon (maybe because it is so scarce so all 5 serious end-game life players HAVE to pay this). you 'can' make a 100 life chest with one essence. but it takes on average a lot more to make a chest that is worth using over a Belly or Kaoms. on the other hand you get 200ES gloves with 40 int and aspd for 12c (bought them, do not look for them). for a HoWA build these are just obscenely powerfull. you can turn pretty much ANY ring with open suffix into end-game ES ring with XX% ES craft (1EX + divine or two for a reasonable roll). this makes getting ES jewelry very easy due to people simply underpricing jewelry without life. shields are easy to self craft. hubirs circlets sell for nothing and it doesnt take much luck to get ~350ES one and slightly more for a 450 one honestly i havent noticed that ES gear costs anything at all. it is available in quantity, with rolls you can pick and choose (Wise Oak says hello) and if in a pinch - crafting ES shield or helmet is relatively easy oh. right. Crystal Belt. fair enough. these are very very expensive (esp compared to vendor belt kehm vanguard belt) but i do just fine without it

lvl 90 character (budget version of mathils frost bolter). does this gear look expensive? it is perfectly adequate to do pretty much any content except guardians/shaper (for that id need to regear into 6L + empower as the single target is just not the goal of this build) |

" It depends on goal you want to achieve. If you want equal tankiness and DPS (= equally bad) at the start of the league, then life build can be even cheaper, sometimes. But if you want BETTER tankiness and/or better DPS, ES will give you that for conciderate cost, especially if you plan to play longer than 1-2 weeks. From that point, market becames over-saturated with mediocre ES gear (because many top=players players craft items in pursuit for BiS rolls, and sell "byproducts" to others). I've clearly felt that with my ES Pathfinder. I've able to get decent ES gear for cheap price, and then, i farmed and gradually upgraded my items, one by one. Your claim about 6-link is total bullshit for life builds, because most of them use 6-link Belly/Brass Dome or 6-link weapon, that should be fused to get 6-link. ES builds, indeed may get 6-link white Regalia from divination cards. But it doesnt mean 6-link with decent base is trashed now. Sure, you can get a cheap 6-link corrupted rare or Saintly Chainmail and use few essences on it (like i did on my Berserker), but that cant be considered a truly endgame item. Actually since i play PoE, and it is from time when Act 3 ended on doors to Solaris, it is THE VERY FIRST time i got 6L item. My first Tabula dropped in Breach so not so long ago. Currently i have like 3 of them (Tabula i mean).
Also im not trading person. First time i used it was on Breach and currently i returned to SSF (this time using game mechanics). Also this char has the highies level i ever reach. So it is just matter of time and persistence. It is easy to brag about how game is "unfair", also - during breach - i kinda faced frustration wall but all i need to do is just "let go". Also item filter - first time i used it was on Breach. It is from NeverSink but it was the basic. Also with Legacy i used basic one but now i will probably start from semi-strict or strict right away. His code is open so anyone can veryfie it.
