Constant Disconnect

Pingzipper helped me SO MUCH. it's been 4 hours and I didn't disconnect once! :)

OK so my mistake, was configured badly.

Pingzapper works very well but then I suspect any VPN product would to be fair. Tried it last night and played for 30 mins or so without disconnecting.

But is it safe and legal to use a vpn here?

Well every company uses VPN's for its workers laptops connecting outside the company office network. I've been using several including non work related for years without issue.

The UAE likes to put out messages regards banning of VPN services to protect the telcos (Du & Etisacrap), frightening people away from using VOIP products etc. For a forward thinking country like the UAE their Telecoms market is so backward, rather than embracing the tech they just try to protect the revenue streams of a dying landline market.

Given use (playing games) I very much doubt you would get in trouble for it.

To use it is fine but if I remember the only thing is if you use it for shady stuff like buying drugs online or something.

I have this issue at home but poe seems to be working at gaming cafe. I have been playing without any issues so dont know what the issue with etisalat is.

called etisalat and surprisingly one of their tech went to the house. showed him what's happening and he suggested to do a port forwarding which did not help. watching over this thread for developments.

I'm trying out Pingzapper and it's been working for a few hours with no problems. Wouldn't call it a solution because long term you need to pay for it..

What's interesting to me is: I live in Abu Dhabi and faced this issue exactly 8 days ago (still disconnecting)

My friends in Dubai were ok up until yesterday, where they now also face a massive spike + eventual disconnect.

Anyway, the only viable solution so far is using a VPN (using HideIPVPN) and it works great ~ 130ms (for you non UAE folks, that's pretty acceptable :D)

I'm going to see a networking specialist tomorrow in Etisalat to see if something can be done. Will keep you guys posted.

Pingzappers trial time is ending soon (1 day left), i hope this can be fixed soon.
