I fear that stuff like Ring of Blades will water down Sire of Shard
 turning projectile into nova is a ridiculously fun property, so i fear more like these jewels will come in the future, are there any plans on preventing Sire from being negatively affected by new items with such properties? Need to ask to Viperesque but pretty sure that this staff was at first designed in the Shotgun era of POE, shotgun died at the same time Sire of shard got implemented to the game,on 2.0 ( actually in the closed beta of 2.0). So much of its power got lost with shotgunning gone. Leaving the unique to a special effect items with not much power. Fuq dat. It's about time EK received a buff. It was improved nicely during Awakening's launch, but was made insignificant by Bladefall and poison stacking.
At least now, it's basically a physical version of Ice Nova (based upon pierce chance, anyway). Now, a 100% pierce chance EK nova with a huge projectile speed modifier would be insane. I was going to do an ice trap build next league, but I'm already reconsidering. Thinking about going Champion duelist and dual wielding two projectile speed wands and using at least 2 of those jewels. Run around with perma-fort and decimate mob packs with 100% pierce EK nova. Yeeee Bring back race seasons.
