edit: also, no I didnt play CI or bladeflurry (as some suggested would be the smart thing to do) in fact if you play a non-meta life build-- for example i started as a bow slayer, so all of my gear was cheap and i was very effective at boss killing--which allowed me to sell the 'meta' gear without detriment to myself.

I've been playing since 2012 and have never found an insane GG item but anything I have ever needed for a character I have been able to get by just playing the game.

You can do things to speed it up if you really want to (flip, scam, price fix) and lots of people do, but just enjoy the game, sell what you find and it'll happen.

1. Fill your atlas by 110+ map bonus (trade for missing maps in 820, host unique maps to get a payback)
2. Farm cheap maps t13-t14 with, 15+packsize and 80+q and bloodlines mod (3c per map)
3. You will find a lot of maps. Sell all maps t8-t12, Sell good maps t13-t15 but keep t16
4. After u get some $$$ buy a good gear or roll a good character to farm t16 maps and shaper.
5. When farming shaper, try to leave him at cull range, then relog and sell shaper kill 10+ chaos per spot.
6. Profit in first two weeks of shaper farm with spot selling is about 10-20 ex per day.
