[2.5] Elemental Monstrosity - Decimate all content on a budget

Hey Wooxy, having a ton of fun with this build. Map clear speeds are amazing! I'm level 86 and will be pushing to hit 90 by the end of the week. Hopefully by then, I'll be able to start tackling on the end game bosses.

I had a couple questions and concerns regarding my progress. I feel like my gear is decent and I want to know what is going on. I've had some trouble last night when running my friend through Merc Labs. I thought I would be able to facetank izaro considering it was Merc, but to me and my friends surprise, I wasn't able to survive through his one shot slam. Not sure if I was lagging the first time around, but the second time I managed to kill him, but was very close to death. I'm around 7.6k ES and 860 int and my resistances are maxed unbuffed..

I saw in your previous posts that you claim you had a 72% crit chance, and 9 attacks per second, but I have no idea how you achieve such insane numbers! My tooltip damage is only around 8k with conc effect, with my crit chance around 52% unbuffed and hit chance at 87%. Also my attacks per second is only around 7.2. I'm wondering how I should tackle the build with the current gear that I have, in order to reach similar numbers as yours, as I would really love to start tackling endgame soon.

My gear:

Also if you could take a look at my talent tree + gems, maybe to get a better idea of what I need to improve would be ideal.

Thanks for the awesome build, having a ton of fun.

so.. which is better? call of the storm or astramentis?

If you have really good gear and 800+ INT from it and also can stack Lightning res - then Choir is slightly better dps option. Otherwise rare amulet with high int/Astramentis are better.
BTW , In terms of amulet options for this build :
It won't make such a big difference if u're gonna use choir instead of astramentis - it won't double your dps or smth like that obviously so if you have 5k dps with conc - don't expect to get 10k by just equipping it.

From my own experience -
Rare amulet is better all-round option if you can get a decent one.It gives you a little bit of everything - WED,crit, crit.multi, int , and %ES(ideally)

Astramentis is going to be good because of all stats obv. - you won't need to waste points on 30 str nodes and it will get you a good chunk of int , but you can get 50-70 int and crit/ multi/wed on rare ammy which is going to be bigger dps gain.

Choir - the lightning bolt on crit thing is barely noticeable ( in terms of damage) , difference in crit chance gained on it VS rare ammy with t1 crit roll is pretty small (like 3-4% at max if u're capped for ele weak on lightning)

and the 50% increased lightning damage on crits - sounds very good on paper but I can't tell you the difference honestly when I unequip it , its barely noticeable also, maybe that's just me.

that's the rare amulet that I've used for comparing and for my taste it outperforms choir , idk.

How do you survive at all without stun immunity as CI?

If you whirl into anything or take an arrow to the knee you're stunlocked...
Carry on my waypoint son, there'll be peace when maps are done.
Lay your portal gem to rest, don't you die no more.

'Cause it's a bitter sweet symphony this league.
Try to make maps meet, you're a slave to the meta, then you leave.

this ring solves all my stun issues

I've tried "80% stun avoidance after kill" boot enchant - for general mapping it's more then enough , but for breach bosses/shaper/uber atziri it's unreliable since you don't really have mobs to keep it up.

Alright...

Got the character up to level 89. Pretty well have everything speced into aside from 3 power charge nodes and around 30 int left on the tree and 15% energy shield increase and my last 2 uber ascendancy points. The build has lived up to my expectations mostly...

Some criticisms I have off the bat.. The 'budget' aspect of this build is a far stretch. This build will work fine up to 10 - 11 tier maps on a budget after this it starts to get VERY sketchy. This build is no better a budget build vs anything else in the game (even something you would make on your own). I would put budget builds on the line of totems etc (which are extremely cheap to set up for very easy mapping and currency farming). The build while have 7.9k ES and a 6-Link chest (gear will be posted below) the build feels mostly alright. Still problems running some late game maps but I think that is more onto my self than the build.

Now onto the good parts of the build. It's extremely fun to play once you get some good gear going and can start to survive maps and get good damage. The damage is pretty good from what I've experienced so far and I can pretty well tank most bosses without even dodging (not recommended). I managed to get lucky and corrupt an increased crit chance gem to 20/21 which helped a decent amount. The build as stated in the guide scales extremely hard once you can put items into it (I still haven't got skyforths yet, I could only imagine the power at that point).

Overall, I think this build is a good build to play but not as a starting build or does it hold up its claim to decimate all content on a budget. I would be hard pressed to see proof of someone actually doing uber-atziri or shaper with actual budget ES gear / links etc.

I will post my equipment below (I know the claws could be better but I don't feel like paying 2ex for only 4% more increased int, and the chest was bought simply due to budget constraints and wanting a 6-Link bad).

First off, getting high amounts of int on your gear is extremely important (check out some of my gear I'm sitting around 800+ int). The way our claws scale it's extremely important to get it because it increases our damage massively. You should transfer over to CI whenever it feels best for you, make sure you are speced into the life-leech nodes at the bottom of the tree before doing the switch and taking vaal pact etc.

Make sure to remember our main claws increases our int by a max of 12% per claw that is 24% increased intelligence just from our claws.

I enjoyed reading your detailed discussion. However, I have personally gutted my character for the sake of testing budget options. Using a chayula, 4l 600 es chest with 40 int, 100 es boots, 100 es gloves, 200 es helmet, call of the brotherhood and a resist ring with wed I still managed to down uber atziri, shaper and guardians (had a lot of trouble with chimera)
