again:
1.make it playable for all playerbase
2.make it more challenging and balanced
3.free and many will join the game
4.keep it that way when adding new conte t, repeat steps 1-3
5.get player supports and long time players!

Repeat 1-4 and LISTEN TO THE COMMUNITY!
MAKE NOOBS BE ABLE TO PLAY FOR HEAVENS SAKE
I know of many who left right after entering cruel...

again:
1. is is playable for all playerbase
2. you are contradicting your first point, majority of players don't manage to make it to maps because it is too challenging for them. you can easily enough make it more challenging for yourself by not playing meta builds
3. it is free and many have joined
4. it is still free and they keep adding more content for free
5. they have both

I really fucking hope they do not listen to the community going by the utter bollocks the community comes up with
noobs can go play d3 ;)

DOn't worry they don't. See the 2.5 patch notes thread and the whining in there.

yup, made my day. but then people whine whatever they do instead of just adapting and being grateful for what they got... so much entitlement. Bring on the next league :)

I wonder how many new players who invested in their build, completely clueless how GGG balances the game thinking there will be a few slight nerfs here and there but instead see their build completely nerfed to the point of being unplayable. You would need some serious dedication and keep having faith in the balance team to continue playing.

There are kids playing, who can't even use a credit card, how the fuck are they supposed to buy shit?
PaySafeCards. Available on most gas stations, won't get any easier than that.

again, just a matter of perspective. I buy supporter packs as thanks for the time I had with the game up to that point, not in expectation of what is to come. so even if the game suddenly goes into a direciton I no longer enjoy and stop playing, I would not regret having supported, because I supported for the time I did get out of it and enjoyed.

I get where you come from and just like OP applaud your good intentions, but I still disagree and have zero sympathy for people expecting to just have everything given to them. I dream of a Nissan GTR too but I cannot afford a car so have to walk 4 hours a day to get to work and back, wouldn't even dream about complaining about it though or expecting to just be given a car. People need to lower their expectations to suit their lifestyle and stop being such whiny snowflakes

Excuse me, but the first thing i would buy if i had to walk 4 hours a day to get to work and back and couldn´t afford a car is a bycicle. Then search for a better Job and buy a motorcycle.
In no case i would support a game company with money that i could spent onwards more comfort for me and my family.

I think the more important question, is path of exile a free game anymore.

I mean technically you can still play it for free... but this kind of stuff rides the line with new players. If I had just 4 tabs, I would spend more time organizing stuff then actually playing. Even then.. 4 tabs wouldn't be enough to do all this.

They didn't cave in when people discussed the currency tab cost. So I wouldn't expect them to change their mind on this.

But to me, these kind of choices make the game no longer free to play. It's more like a free demo, but if you really want to get down to business, you have to pay for it.
sorry to say this but i like it to stay as it is, since i know how it turns in games when no-supporters keep getting what they ask for.

It always ruins games in end if it turns to "easy mode".

And its always been free to play even with stash tabs, all you gotta do is create an "ALT" character and WOALLA!, you got space to put on that char.

Alot of friends using this way and it works so good for them, they not crying over forum.

That's how I feel it is. A free demo but if you want to get serious into the game you will need to pay for premium stash tabs which is fine but can you really still advertise it as a free to play game?

Yes, you can. And to be honest, PoE is completely free to play. You can play every content in the game, there is no chat restriction and you get to group with people or even trade with them. I agree that premium stash tabs are a huge quality of life feature but selling those for real cash is justified considering that the rest is just more convenience (currency tab, soon essence tab) and cosmetics.

People should be grateful that it is that way. I've been playing a lot of mmorpgs and so called free to play titles over the past 10 years, GGG's business model is a godsend compared to those. The only game that comes remotely close (in my opinion) in terms of free to play / cash shop would be League of Legends.
