[Feedback] You fucked up chaos damage and low life.
Some additional testing confirms my original thought.
I ran a twinned arachnid nest, the results = The partial phys/chaos ek barrage deals 370 chaos damage with a value of 60% chaos resistance. This is the same as the old jungle valley boss. The auto-attack, which is also partial chaos/physical instant kills with 60% chaos resistance and a life buffer of 740. Which makes me believe they simply tuned the damage upwards(old jungle valley aytoattack hit did roughly 500 dps with similar chaos resistance value's) and left the "skill" the boss utilizes the same. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

And you need some margin because sometimes, more than one element at a time ( desecrated ground + heavy chaos mob for example, or damage mod + heavy chaos mob, or that + vulnerability, or that + monster poison on hit, or that + otherworldy mobs, or 3 or 4 at a time, etc ....) will go over those calculations and /boom.
But I'm not telling you anything new anyway ... SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

Low Life is another garbage mechanic that revolves around one single item. Would be more interesting, if there were other combinations.

Hybrid characters are an at best "meh" situation and god forbid you want to play low life hybrid without shavs.
I don't even understand low-life as a build in general as a place within a game. If shavs or chaos damage didn't exist, it would have 0 downsides and you get a ton of free auras and bonuses for being "low life". As oppose to a big boost when your fighting to your last breath. Even even it's just my HP is this blue shield and I spend more to reserve this other portion. Low-life would work better if we didn't have extreme spiky damage killing us with our instant leech healing us to full but you know. Only reason why low life exists is that it's a stat you see sometimes in rpgs and a ton of supporters spent money to released a number of items to support the playstyle. Which then got GGG an idea to "legitimize" this new "playstyle". It was never designed in the game properly as a mechanic and shouldn't be treated as such. |

" ive been playing life/es (ev) and life/es (ar) based builds for over a year and that 'regen' thingy is not a problem in practice. that is - once you reach 4k life and 3k ES plus. hybrid will not work with lesser values and each 100 ES more makes the build so much stronger. from what i can read the tree GGG is perfectly aware of this mechanic and deliberately put 'life on kill' in shadow area (same for assassins mark curse). in perfect world (where CI is not just BETTER than everything else) shadows should play life/es/EV hybrdids with leech to ES and life on kill to life (+flask). ive made build like that and it is 100% end-game viable survivability wise (ignite being its strongest enemy) without any leech. note that i do not like the 'chaos is now 4th element' thing. in closed beta the only item with anything chaos was Geofrey's helmet with chaos res roll. it was the only item in the game that had this mod. it made chaos special. right now it is.. stat like any other |
