Sometimes it's worth to pick up every yellow item

I spend the majority of my time in leagues, the majority of my wealth comes from leagues. Im pretty certain that I personally would lose money doing unid with the way I play, even in standard where theres ultra rare item saturation. Its not rly in my interest to promote identifying gear so its not a point i rly want to go into.

But in short I think its personal, what works for the individual. Theres people in this game who make 20 chaos per day and theres people who make 400 chaos per day, what separates them is not picking up or identifying items. Theres people in both camps who loot, dont loot, id, unid, some dont recipe at all. You dont go from a 20c a day guy to a 400c a day guy because you switch to unid or stop looting rares entirely. You might be promoted to a 30c a day guy, meanwhile a guy making 400c a day might be demoted to 30c a day by following the same advice because how he is making 400c per day is rooted in identifying rares. Maybe he gets his 400c from flipping so he doesnt need to id, makes the change, now hes a 410c a day guy.

Fair enough, what works for me may very well not work for someone else. Also, sorry for the assumption you're mostly a standard player, I don't know why I had this impression. Perhaps it has to do with your skill as a trader. I dislike trading and try to limit it, which means I'm not especially good at pricing and I don't have the patience to wait. Most items are relatively easy to price check but some others, especially jewellery, are much more difficult. I usually just slap an arbitrary price and gradually lower it until it sells. You probably manage to get much more out of your rare drops.

I don't know. Between Bars and a lot of other condescending posters on these forums, I might have taken it out on you.

Guilty as charged, I have a tendency to be arrogant, especially in online environments where I lower my filters. In my defense, I am aware of the problem and try to fight it but it's not that easy. Going against my nature and all that. Pointing it out helps, so thanks for the heads up and sorry if I stressed you so much you had to vent on an unsuspecting third party :) I really can't help it sometimes.

You have to be realistic about these things.

I'm not discussing item and stat efficiency. I'm discussing prices. An item which can be easily found for 2-3 chaos in poe.trade, with many available options, can hardly be called 'godly'. The chance of getting this item is not an argument in favor of picking up and identifying items of this type.

If you enjoy picking up items, identifying them and finding something you like every once in a while, that's another story. Good for you. Just don't make it sound as if it's worth it to do so, because it isn't. Time is money in PoE and by picking up and identifying these chest bases you're losing money in the long run.

Sure and the million other items that were complete crap? Sorry man but I RNG nothing. I dont even 4L. At least not w/o my main man vorici.

BTW them boots aint that good anyway. 10-20c you prolly had to ID 1000 boots to find. I got better things to do like buy something for 10c sell it for 25c and buy your boots.

This is really funny.
How do you upgrade your items when you are not IDing anything?
Because you are only buying your gear from the market from player who ID the items and sell them?

If selling UNID items for 2 chaos is this good, and everyone would do it, there would be nothing to buy for these chaos. because if no one ID items and sell them, there is no market at all.

Accept it or not. You can only upgrade your items when there are player who are looting, IDing and selling the yellow items (if you are not doing it). Unless you are using only unique items in all slots.

I am looting yellow items. Than i ID these and put them in one stash. If this stash is full i check the value of the items. And move all that look good in the 1C stash, these that are clearly worth more in the 2+C Stash. All other is sold for the 1C reciple, or to vendor (if i have to many of a kind). Items that in these sell stashes for a while are moved to the 1C vendor stash if i need them for a complete reciple.

It might be not the most time effective way, but it is my way. And this way i am offering a few items to other players as well and can make a few chaos with it. And somtimes i find even an upgrade for my items (i am not hardcore or high end equiped).

Nothing funny about it, there are tons of concepts that work as a part of the whole but aren't exactly self-sustainable.
Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.

OK, here we go again: someone comes, reads a few posts out of the entire thread and then writes something which: a) is not very bright; b) has been already discussed several times. I get annoyed and respond with something unpleasant, Prisus sees it and gets affected even if it's not aimed at him because he just can't handle forum unpleasantries, then he lashes out at an innocent and completely unrelated third poster. The third poster goes 'wtf dude', Prisus has to write an excuse and calls me condescending.

What's the lesson here?

a) try to read everything and maybe even think a little before you post, else you will start a chain forum reaction which will harm innocent bystanders

b) my struggle not to be an asshole is not very successful

DISCLAIMER: Not aimed at adghar :D

In my mouth or up someone's ass, the important part is to put it somewhere.
