Name the first video game that got you into video game as a kid

I played pong and space invaders and the like off and on but I never thought gaming could be taken seriously until Final Fantasy.

I find it very interesting seeing what's everyone favorite's first game, I can pretty say how old you're all by the games you picked.

It's true. It's very telling of peoples relative ages. Man, before I owned it I must've rented Castlevania 3 a few dozen times. Grant was always my fave of the chrs. His pirate level was just so cool. I loved all the branching paths and the bosses were creepy af. The xmas I finally got it as a gift was the same xmas I got my SNES..Sadly I traded in Castlevania 3 for Super Castlevania 4. I'd already beaten 3 so many times and 4 was just so new and shiny.

4 blew my tiny little mind but I still have a place in my heart for 3 that can't be beat.

Street Fighter and bet365, of course :)

Mystic Quest (1991) on Game Boy (Final Fantasy Adventure in the US, Seiken Densetsu: Final Fantasy Gaiden in Japan). I played other games before (first games were probably Prince of Persia, Golden Axe on an old computer at a friend's house), but that game was the first one I played a lot and really got me into RPG's.



Also, "Lakers vs. Celtics" (1989) was probably the first video game I ever saw someone playing when I was like 4. Well, at least it's the oldest memory I have of video games.
