Well, as far as I know they are quite accepting of everyone, including straight people who want to enter the parade. And anyway, they want to have their own thing - that's fine, why rebrand it. Same thing as with the hetero pride parade, they shouldn't change it just to avoid offending someone's delicate sensibilities as long as they stay peaceful.

The gay pride parades are supposed to be precisely about gay/LGBT people and they do need it.

Theorically, I'm with Bars on this, everyone should have the right to gather for whatever reason, as long as it's not against the law and done peacefully.

Practically, not so long ago here in Italy we had a "Family Day" event; nothing regarding the family, schools, housing, assistance etc. was discussed at that event, all they spoke about was that gays/LGBT should not have the same rights ( marriage/heritage/medical... you name it) as heterosexuals.

So as long as the majority of people are like this, no Heterosexual Pride, thanks.

I love that quote, don't know who is Evelyn Hall, I always thought it was from Robespierre (the french revolutionary).

Well maybe I haven't expressed myself clearly, let's try again.
I like to hear others' opinions and I like discussion, but I also like and think that any opinion should be "motivated" ( def not the right word here to use, but try to understand what I mean); the people at the reunion I talked about had strong opinions about why gays/LGBT shouldn't have the same rights as heterosexuals in various fields, but when questioned why, many did not answer or just stated " it has always been like this" " they are not normal, not like us" etc. Opinions that just spread hate are not valid from the beginning. So as long as a Heterosexual gathering ends up expressing these kind of opinions, there's no need for it.
And as a side note: lol at them calling it "Family Day", simply didn't have the balls to call it "Anti-gay Day" , poor bigots and hypocrites...
