Diablo III will crush this game...hell with ur beta!
Well coming from someone who has play the D3 beta. I enjoyed it. Played a level 13 character for like 10 hours straight. What I found with D3 is that I ended up just farming the last boss in the beta over and over and over and over and over and over and need I continue? I enjoyed it, but once I realized that I will be doing the same thing with D3 that I did with D2 (farm nonstop for the best items of course), I said, F%$K this game. I didn't socialize. No one spoke in chat and it wasn't really a co-op game. I felt like I was playing with bots.

" " Interesting that these are coming from people without beta keys. The best you have is leaked videos for what this game is like. It is very much in a the spirit of the Diablo series but as a former Diablo crackhead, I have no real desire to play DIII. I'll very likely be using this as my to go hack 'n' slash even with others in the genre still to come out. I don't know how much I will like it in the end considering how much still needs to be added. At worst, it will be second to the Diablo series. FYI, I'm not playing DIII in part because I couldn't get into DII. It felt more like Blizzard does another hack 'n' slash versus DII. That and I played Diablo so much I was just tapped. I played it enough to be credited in Jarulf's Guide which is as complete of a Diablo guide you will find. I still remember my forum sig in reference to the naked mage play style. Point is, I was a Blizzard fanboy but just because I'm sticking with PoE doesn't mean I'm a fanboy either. I play what is fun and leave it as that. City of Heroes has been my game of choice for 6+ years. As much fun as I have with it, I know it's flaws all too well. |

" And you won't be doing the same to this D2 clone? Haha you are hilarious, thanks for making my day. Try harder fanboy. You mad? Last edited by flybutterfly#0440 on Feb 3, 2012, 8:59:34 PM

I didn't bother reading all of the posts, besides the first one. Not sure why I am taking the time to write this.. but, what the hell.
This game is free. D3 will cost 60 bucks, if you can afford 60 bucks, you can afford free. So, really, their is no competition between the two titles at all. Beyond that, I have the D3 beta. It isn't fun (to me) it isn't like D2 or D1. I do not feel like I have any real control over the "destiny" of my character, I just level until a box pops up telling me about some new spell that I can try, I don't invest any points into anything.. feels very.. sterile? But, that all may change later in the game once you get runes and other fun stuff.. who knows? PoE feels much more like what I had hoped D3 would be (and, suprisingly, this game looks much better), it's skill system is far superior, the customization between builds is far superior... and as such, I'll be playing it until they shut the servers down or until my pack a day smoke habit puts me in the dirt. Feel free to play whatever game you wish. "the premier Action RPG for hardcore gamers."

" I beg to differ. The game is darker than any of the older Diablo series, you are playing a hero wandering around hoping to find clues to what is going on with an epic storyline. The graphics are beautiful, it feels like you're playing in a handcrafted piece of dark art. " The builds are boring, the game is an extact clone of D2 with a little nicer graphics, gameplay is static and repetitive with crappy storyline. The graphics still cannot be compared to the immensity and detail Blizzard put into D3. PoE is doomed to fail, and only a minority of people like this game. GGG still has a long way to go. You mad? PoE is not an exact copy of D2, besides the fact that you kill things, find things, and put them on. If PoE IS a copy of D2, then so is every ARPG ever made... but that's like saying every FPS is a copy of Wolfenstein, but with better graphics... makes no sense.
*about the story line: it isn't finished, so you cannot make any comments about it being boring or unoriginal.. or anything else. *builds - D3 you have your character with pre-defined skills that you can choose from. PoE you can choose almost any skill you want, it's up to you to make it work, not sure how you find D3's limited options more appealing. I won't argue about what you find fun, if D3 is more your bag, I hope you have a great time with it. " Obviously you have no knowledge about D3 at all, beta player really? You can only choose a small number of fixed skills in PoE, and most of them are copycats of D3, lol! You mad? Last edited by flybutterfly#0440 on Feb 3, 2012, 9:30:49 PM

D3 you level up and at certain points the game tells you "hey you got a new skill! check it out!" where am I wrong?
In PoE you can choose any skill you want, so long as you can make it work. I have a ranged Templar, I have seen spell using Marauders.. etc. What skills in PoE are copies of D3? What skills in D3 aren't copies of D2? Can you come up with any skill that hasn't been seen in any game yet? I highly doubt it, throwing stones is very easy. Haha PoE fanboy trying way too hard to support a clone.
" The skill tree is just visually appealing (hated it though, looks terrible, horrible for new players), you'll end up with a small number of builds. So much for customization. " Almost every single one. You forgot to add D2. Item stats are also an extact copy of D2, haven't seen one that is different. " lolwut? Apart from some wizard and barb, most of it. Go do proper research before attempting to troll. You mad? Last edited by flybutterfly#0440 on Feb 3, 2012, 9:57:25 PM
