I disagree, I watched videos and read extensive reviews about Diablo III and Path of Exile, and I am more excited about Path of Exile. Diablo III uses fun kiddie colors and a DOTA look and feel. Path of Exile seems to have a dark look and feel that the old school games used to have (Ultima) and that Dark Souls uses. Although Diablo III will be successful, I think Path of Exile will be equally successful.

I would love a BETA key if anyone can hook me up!

Umm, what?

I got lucky enough to get in the beta for D3 (not so lucky for Exile), and seriously... D3 does not use fun kiddie colors. The majority of the graphics are dull, washed out, and gloomy.

World of Warcraft uses fun kiddie colors, D3 not yet in the beta anyway. Maybe they toned them down for the beta

It's only the kiddies who say D3 look like WoW, or for the matter, PoE fanboys trying too hard.

oh I love post like these just make me laught!
I have a buddy in the D3 beta, and the resource system and skill system is very interesting in my opinion, I've only gotten to play it a little while, but i had a lot of fun when i did!

That being said, POE is pretty awesome too, I've put more time into simply because i have a key for it XD

also I have to question how Diablo 3, a paid game, would crush POE, a free game >_>

For example look at league of legends and heros of newearth (not comparing on which one is better), League of legends started out free and gained a large following, while heroes of newerth charged 30 bucks for the game. Shortly into their lifespan, they went to a free model of play and then adopted the microtransaction system.

This has happened with a lot of MMORPG style games as well! In fact, microtransaction has become a prominent business model in many online game companies today.

I'm not saying d3 wont be successful (if even just because of hype), but its not going to overthrow a new, more successful business model with an old one.

Espacially if you also consider that GGG are just about 10 people more or less (http://www.grindinggear.com/?page=staff)...and then there's Activision Blizzard with 5000 people. Of course they're not all working on D3 but maybe a fith are and that would still 100x more people....

Well some more, but not a lot...All in all I would guess they're not more than 20-30 people...

I'm just saying that it is quite silly to compare D3 with POE considering the different size of the teams (not to speak of the financial resources) and the price model and that I find this whole thread pretty useless...but of course it is an other thing to discuss what prize model has a brighter future;), but as I said even if I qouted you, my intention was more to allude to the facts written before in a perspective of the whole thread...

ah I see :P I for one enjoy these debates though. Anything can be compared tbh.
The desperation and one-sidedness of how fanboys trying too hard to backup GGG is amusing.

Very poor comparison.

People are not blind silly, they look into the quality of the game.

PoE is not even to the standard of what D3 is, try harder.

Blizzard seems to want their cake and eat it too with a box charge and micro-transactions. Plenty of people will buy D3 based on brand loyalty and name recognition alone but fundamentally the game suffers from some backwards thinking and poor management decisions. Just like GW is a fundamentally better game than WoW but has to fight stigma and a brand recognition.

Personally I will never buy another Blizzard title, their recent offerings lack a soul.
