[2.6] The Curse Whisperer - Tri-Curse CI Whispering Ice Elementalist - Viable for Everything
" been using a str-dex amulet to compensate for the stat loss together with some resist. it should last you around mid tier maps, enough to let you farm for that astramentis. |

Hey OP, great build, going great so far (level 80 something).
Quesiton though, Do you think swapping a gem out for Cold to Fire support is worth considering? I've seen an increase in dps, but not entirely sure. Great build once again! |

Would hypothermia be an okay replacement for conc effect if I don't like the feel of the reduced AOE?

" If you want to go super cheap you may even use a good carnage heart, yes you will have slightly less ES but the stats + good res help a lot while leveling (SC only i guess). I did so myself before getting the astramentis. Last edited by Silvoz#7719 on Dec 16, 2016, 4:15:48 AM

" It depends on your level and the sockets of your staff. I replaced conc effect with IIR and I think it's better overall, the DPS difference isn't big, though I have a 6S staff. And hypothermia applies more damage to chilled enemies, but im not sure if bosses can be chilled, so you should have both gems on your inventory and swap when needed. |

" Your character is lv 60, and you took the useless ES nodes instead of the AoE nodes. If you followed the guide it would work much better. Just saying. " Ctf + AoF + Perandus model is used by the Scion version. It requires much higher Int to be worth it (Scion gets extra Int from Ascendancy and an extra jewel slot). I don't see this model working better than Pyre + CD + 2 skill points for the Witch unless you have godly gear and very high level (i.e. unlikely to happen in a temp league). " There is an example of a beginner's amulet for leveling in the Leveling Guide. You can get better stats at higher levels and go into medium tier (or even some high tier) maps with an amulet that has 70+ Int and whatever Str and Dex to fit the minimum requirements for the red and green gems (which you cannot level then). But eventually you will need Astramentis for the endgame. This is what I use in HC (I have no budget there at all): Last edited by Kelvynn#6607 on Dec 16, 2016, 2:36:01 PM

I wanne go for this build. But is it breach HC viable??
| |
" No (see Q&A). You only need CE for bosses. For everything else I personally use Item Rarity instead. " It is viable for HC and for breaches, so I guess it should be viable for HC Breach league. Just don't push it too far and don't take risks before the build is complete. Like that guy some pages ago who cried that 'this build is not as tanky and leechy as advertised!' after he ripped in HC when trying to facetank something nasty AT LEVEL 50. ))) And btw, I will strongly recommend using SR - CwC for leveling (instead of SE and 1 dps gem). I just haven't finished testing SR - CwC yet for endgame, but for leveling it's totally awesome. It solves the mana issue and cast time/mobility issue while leveling. Hello there
First of all, great build, thanks for the guide Kelvynn ! My leveling story: With about 10 chaos budget, I started using Whispering Ice and went CI as soon as possible, so about level 33. Never got any trouble at all, tried my best to be res capped most the time after act II Cruel, before that it was not really needed. Used Shavronne's Pace and Icetomb when available until Merciless Act III. Swapped Icetomb for a decent 1c ES chest and also used a couple of 1c boots to help with the res. Did some Dried Lake and map farming until level 72-75 so I can finally afford an Astramentis. That's right, no Atram up to Merci Dried Lake it was absolutely fine without leveling red gems. I also still have not made the CWDT-IC setup for the extra defence as of now, at level 81. This build is super strong and tanky, no doubt about that. The damage is quite impressive. Clear speed can be very fast too but you have to rely on your filter sounds for the drops since you're gonna be killing mobs out of screen a lot. I died three times I think, only because stun-locked in breaches why not very experienced with it. No difficulty outside of breaches as expected. All scary bosses from the campaign became tiny little poops with this build. However I still miss Turmoils and better WI and BSC for the int, but so far so good playing solo and dealing as less as possible with the horrible trading system we have at the moment. The only difficulty I have is to get 6 sockets on that bloody staff, spent about 300 jewellers and no luck so far. But got lucky on an Exalt drop so I can't really complain.
Spoiler
A few important points - I bought the cheapest gear I could find, nothing over 1c for leveling, including WI, SP and Icetomb. - Playing carefully and slowly you won't need the res capped before level 60-65. - Took only passives from the bandits quest. - Playing this as a second build in a new league helps a lot to get the budget and res on jewellery. - Very manageable without Astramentis until level 70. - Do not underestimate Unwavering Stance and go for it as soon as possible to avoid stunned deaths. - Paragon of Calamity (very approriate for me) is incredibly useful against reflect. Thanks again for the build man, a lot of fun, can't wait for better gear ! P.S. I still see a lot of the same questions asked again and again in this thread, people, just read the first freaking post, all the information is in there. That is probably why it did not get answered. https://www.youtube.com/user/PeipeMasta

Been running this build and love it, at 79 now and it feels really good. One question though: what is a good ES number to be at for Merc Lab? at 6k es now with discipline, trying to get a new chest if I can grab one for a decentish price (mine is only 550 ES atm).
