Hey op!, just wondering if i should change out my hubris for black sun...not really sure if my dps is at where it should be.

I don't know how good your hubris is, but I swapped this one for Black Sun and never regretted it:

Really? You would use that over Black Sun? Could you explain? Cause Black Sun right now is giving me 167 int...

Exactly the opposite if you read it carefully.

Its something really similar, the added intelligence(presumably) is much more effective?

Whats the benefits of a black sun over that op hubris circlet helmet??..at first sight that hubris gives like more than 2k energy shield and a lot of INT..

I misread his earlier comment and will answer in his place.

Black Sun Helm gives me ~160 int. Thats 32% ES. And even MORE damage.

Oh and the +1 Gems is nice to have too
I am level 76 and going to Whispers of Doom in the passive tree for the extra curse.
Could you explain why taking Curse Cast Speed is better than the Curse effect? Just for the cost (1 skill point more), or any other reason?

Thanks for all the build it is really well explained and I really get pleasure to play with!

Yes, just to get there faster. He suggests replacing that node with two curse effect nodes as one of the options for spending further points, if you check that section.

And for the final levels, should you decide to go that far, a few choices:
- (1 point) replace the useless Curse Cast Speed node near Whispers of Doom with the two Curse Effect nodes (+10% curse efficiency)
- (1 point) Lightning Walker or the 4th resist node near Diamond Skin (this may allow you to wear gloves/boots/armor with higher Int instead of resists)
- (2 points) Faith and Steel (ES and resists)
- (2 points) Nullification (ES and resists)
- (3 points) Jewel socket between the Scion start and Vaal Pact (Fertile Mind; a Dex node nearby is converted twice!)
- (3 points) Trickery
You can switch between these options every time you level up. Refund something smaller, grab something bigger.

I did not notice the end part of the leveling section, thank you for answer.

Is there any reason to go CtF+AoF with a non-legacy Perandus? I currently have enough fire/cold res, but napkin math says that I won't get any damage by doing so, as switching CD 45% more for CtF 29% more is a 12% loss, while Perandus only gives me around 10% more damage, especially since it costs 2 skill points.

alright so i just did another run trying to facetank everything. and what can i say it went really smooth and also deathless. his auto attacks were tickling and the beam damage was easy to leech against. as you said he wasnt shooting any balls at me (just like once after the zana phase when i had to get close to him again ). He still went for his slam attack even though i stood on top of him. i also survived that with around 3k es left popping my flasks. still no sword drop :(

Told ya! :) He can still teleport slam if you are in a party or if you use a ranged attacker golem (but not often). But you can survive it as long as you don't stand in the epicenter of it. The outer edges do much less damage.

Anyway, facetanking 4tw!

Replacing a good hubris with BSC is trading 1-1.5k ES for 1-1.5k Icestorm tooltip and 100+ Int. Your Enlighten and Discipline gain +1 level (extra ES and free mana). You no longer have to lose your existing helmet enchantment in hopes of getting a better one. And you can use different helmets for different targets (this became even more useful in 2.4; I use a swap helmet for the Shaper to run PoI).

CtF+AoF+Perandus makes sense only with very high Int (legacy Perandus can help with that). It works for the Scion because of the massive Int bonus from her Ascendancy, it can be good for the Witch as a final lv 100 upgrade, although not sure. But as long as you still have something good to grab it's better to grab it faster with those 2 skill points.

Oh, and you need to have better gear for that scheme too. Maxing resists with Perandus instead of Pyre is a lot harder.
