I said CoC could get some adjustments. But unless you are declusional or just completely stupid you will know CoC is not the worst in the meta right now, at least CoC is not what's making PoE a laughing stock right now.

This is just as interesting. While people are whining about Chaos being too OP. I just watched a video of a guy playing a CoC build with 2 writhing jars clear gorge faster than any Chaos build ive ever seen. I like the old "no no no, we're fine - dont nerf us, NERF THEM INSTEAD!" argument.
At this stage (2 weeks before 2.3) everything is most likely decided, this whole discussion won't make a difference. Still...
I am a fan of COC - not because they are so powerful, but just because they are fun as hell to play with. In the last 4 leagues i made at least 1 COC lvl85+ char each league. They were usually budget <5exa builds... and usually my other <5exa builds were comparable in strength or stronger.
Parandus league i finally managed to make a big boy char - cyclone coc discharger inquisitor, with voll's devotion and 6l voll's protector (possibly life based was not a good call but at least i fly through lab).
Most of my observations were already mentioned by other players feeling COC is OK AS-IS:
1. you need to know well what you are doing, at all times you are either leeching or dead,
2. it's fun as hell to play coc discharge but apparently not so much fun to play with one - so finding a party is often difficult,
3. true, you may get your dps skyrocket; but with your melee killing and all particle effects flying you detect ele reflect mobs post-mortem,
4. my current build costs 35-45exa on Perandus, more on standard, even such a half-noob as myself can enumerate several builds that are much cheaper, with comparable or higher kill-speed and easier to navigate
To summarize: yest it is true you can make a strong char around COC gem. However, for the same pricetag 30+exa there are multiple builds at least as strong. Budget variants are budget - nowhere close to the real deal in terms of dps or survival (voll's devotion in both counts for discharger). Still, they are fun to play with and capable to do at least mid-tier maps; those will not make T15 boss insta-kill. Any significant nerf to COC gem will most likely weaken cyclone co discharger and just destroy all other variants, making COC gem single-application or just dead skill, reducing viable builds diversity.
It would be a pity, Still, it's life - every time balance adjustment takes place we get new skills, others become niche or dead. With all new gems coming every now and then it feels like options variety remains pretty much the same.
We will see - maybe COC will just follow the path used many times before: skills nerfed to oblivion.

Its a strange argument already. My friend with Voltaxic LA build can outperform me when we are runing some gorges (my build CoC EK + BF end game gear, 100lv). So?

My guesses for 2.4 version of CoC :

1/ Can only be linked with 1 spell gem
2/ a flat 50% chance to cast on crit, at all levels
3/ a less damage multipliers to all damages.

I support this sarcastic suggestion!
CoC is not the problem. It's the OP spells. You dont see ppl doing core with ice nova CoC do you? But you do with BF and discharge.
