Im new, Marauder is Overpowered. This Game is AWESOME!
"The problem is that a handful of nodes are way too cost-efficient. Resolute Technique Catalyse & Weapon Elemental Damage Iron Grip Static Blows Inner Force Blood Magic Getting these few passives, which coincidentally are all surrounded by powerful life nodes, solves all of your accuracy and mana problems, gives you around +80% physical from strength and +80% elemental damage, then effectively doubles your damage thanks to shock if you're using Lightning Strike or Lightning Arrow. This frees up the whole rest of your build to max out your defense. Heck, Inner Force is both a top-tier offensive and defensive passive at once. I agree with you mara/templar start is too strong. Duelist start is worthless, no point to roll duelist.

Physical works too, really. he had 30-40% increase in elemental damage. but did you see him using Frenzy (without elemental)? the damage isnt much different. Majority comes from your weapon and Iron grip, your nodes should give u around 40-50% + phy dmg thats enough. If want to play Int witch, i'd also rather start off as a Marauder clearly because we can branch anywhere we want and use any weapon we want. and Marauder has a imba bonus hp node surrounding him. I havent really looked at Witch and the others.
i can only conclude Ranger and shadow sucks the most. Duelist is better than ranger, its nearer to marauder. If you want to play a Bow user, start as Marauder or Duelist, best choice. always think of survival first. then sweep as fast as possible. and in this game, its possible to be both, and the best class to choose to be that is Marauder. Look im not a pro, this is my 3rd day. But I cant find a reason to start as range or shadow. all i want is to use a bow, and i hate bulky class. but this game gives too many advantage to marauder! Duelist is my 2nd choice. reason is simple HP Regen HP 4k-5k Level 80+ Leather & Steel Blood Magic Iron reflex Iron Grip Evasion and HP nodes(in the middle) Can give up Armor rating/evasion for more offensive, because 4k-5k you wont die anymore lol then the rest to offensive. Basically the ranger-start is in favor because you won't have any trouble using bows and skills.
The point is not about the marauder it is about life being incredibly more important than most other stats. RT is a problem, exspecially considering that only a few mobs actually have the ability to block to bypass RT slightly. BM is basically fine the only reason for BM being a no-brainer is because people have a shit-ton of life and HP-Reg anyway, why not take BM than, exspecially since Mana is a terrible mechanic right now. But on the other side... Frost or Spark-Witches perform incredble, not to mention late-game summoners. The reason why people play Elemental-Bow Rangers first is because they are not that gear-dependent and easy to level, while some other chars have problems in certain areas during leveling. And yes nguyen is an elemental bow-ranger and I guess even his frenzy does more elemental than physical damage, because I suppose that every item possible has +elemental damage mods. The most sucky starting-positions are duellist and in some situations shadows. The Shadow start makes it tricky to play melee, caster is fine though. Duellist just sucks, because it is worse than ranger or marauder for a bow-user and ground-slam or LS is also better using marauder to get awesome def or templer for early catalyze with ls. Duellist does not have much to offer. Ranger has easy access to IR and gets 30% weapon-elemental damage on his way there. Ranger You see... of course the rangers gets marauder start later, but there is no reason to touch duellist-start. It doesn't make sense as an ele-ranger to take the duellist part. The ranger start is far more interesting. It might force you a bit more into evasion-armor but since most supports you want to use are green anyway it is easier to get appropriate sockets on them. You might want to pick up the epic-life nodes at templer start too to get even more HP, but well I just wanted to show that there is no reason to start as a marauder, since it will make it more tricky to level skill-gems and due to having enough accuracity you don't need RT. Actually at the moment I picked up RT my DPS dropped, since I had 6,5% Critchance and a 98% Hit-Chance, but that was only because of modifiers on gear, but taking RT early is not really necessary. You get blood-magic a bit later, but again as a ranger you can steam-roll normal anyway and funny away the ranger start offers you HP earlier than the marauder-start since you need to go down to BM first and get to templer after that or you even have to go IR before templer to use your skills due to Dex-Requirements. So Ranger starting-area is fine. But the problem is that there are a lot of things that lacks usage. Exspecially all physical damage nodes for bows or reduced stun etc. |

It is possible for a meaningful amount of physical damage to spawn on a weapon. It.. just has to be two handed. Or roll the three prefixes in the three slots available for them to spawn in.

![]() I played many different classes already in HC: Witch, Marauder, Templar and Ranger. They are all good and you will get enough life with all of them. Apart from that as aimlessgun already hinted: There are many non-marauders in the top positions of the ladder. Why if they are so useless? |
