just curious, does the little bit of lightning damage on the daggers really matter? i'm flying around these maps and i see nothing shatter, ever.

(there're parts of this tree that i was really REACHING for, like the flask, curse, and cast speed clusters etc, certainly you can trade those in for something better like the life "wheel" or something else)

i've played totem builds before and as insane as this build is (i'm not even lvl 20 gems yet) i don't see a need for unwavering stance at the very least. it seems really like just insurance for poor play; not sure if that's like a hardcore consideration but I didn't spec into it yet and i don't have a problem just... NOT jumping into the center of a blue pack and then scrambling to get back out... and also it seems like the life along the way is just quite helpful consequentially, and not so much essential.

also, i'm not so convinced about blood magic. is it just to overcome the 100% spell damage from the mantle? cos if that's the case it seems like a long way out of the way for a quite specific (and really TRULY endgame item) situation. i've gotten fairly good at flasking a bubbling mana at about 50% (since it's not like there are crazy flasks i NEED) and then you could actually run AA or something as more of a defensive option. I know the 35% life is nice but i'm not convinced.

I want to try the Spectral Throw Inquisitor build for the upcoming Essence league. Is it viable to level as a first character? I watched your video and you didn't really mention any leveling tips such as gem setup/skill tree/mana management/etc?

you seem to love pain, dying, and losing xp that you spent hours gathering.

I was more like thinking.. a shavronne might help with chaos damage that probably absolutely massacres this build. less damage, but.. glass cannons don't live long in PoE. in fact I'm not sure shavronne would be enough, the build's problem is that it doesn't have defenses. life by itself is not a defense, if not backed up by a ton of armor, or shield. but then shield here protects mana, instead of life.. I don't get that at all.
Ok, I must have been drunk or something but I decided to build the Staff Slayer on Essence Hardcore, not taking into account the 40%ish more damage you take, and generally low armour you will have. It was first when I bought my 5-Link Hegemony that I thought about it, but said F-it and did it anyway.

My current eq looks like this:

This was the eq I could buy with the currency I had at hand. A little over 400C went into this, and I ended up with 2C left. I can start selling more currency, but I think it wouldn't be that big of a difference.

Question is though if this build is viable in hardcore? I was thinking about it and I am guessing you will need a lot more armour? Go 1h+shield+5/6L chest to be able to run abyssus? Or should I just sell everything and do something else instead?

I am short 2k hp though, but not sure how much of a difference 8k hp will make. The damage output can be better but I have not gathered all the necessary damage nodes yet and have only a 5 link since the only 6 link available is 700 chaos.
Regarding the poison clone. Why faster attacks and not void manipulation or rapid decay?
Should scale the dmg much better since faster attack is kinda garbage on cyclone.

neither manip nor decay scale both (attack and poison). so it comes down to preference. I tested both and faster won due to:

- scaling from cyclone more ias (the mechanics got changed last league if u did not catch that)
- alot higher playability in maps with a much more consistent deadzone for mobs
- a lot better rampup and faster apply of stacks (without it u often only hit a mob once when hitting at at the farest range)
- sidebonus roar knockback becomes considerably stronger defensive wise

Regarding your cyclone build i have a few questions:
Would a combination of 'Some good rare foil' or just Scaeva and Rigwald's Savegary be good? And would you change anything when bleed chance is 100% on the axe?
Also, do you see The Warden's Brand being viable/preferable?
