sometimes you people frighten me.

this is a game. you wouldn't kill people in real life to get a bonus to your life stats or frenzy charges, do you?

Playing the game requires killing game sprites. It does not require cheating. That is a choice that some people make, and it's a choice that affects other real people, not sprites.

You can try to protect yourself in game, as you can in real life, but blaming the victims is the same either way.
GGG has made it very easy to not get scammed.

Therefore, any forms of trickery you believe to be a "scam" isn't.

If you trade someone and they put 1 ex instead of 10 for an item and you didn't realize and you accepted the trade, it's your fault for being blind.

If you are wanting services or providing services for someone, and YOU decide it's fine for them to receive first and they don't follow through, it's your fault for being gullible.

tl;dr Stop being dumb on a game which patches the most basic form of scamming via trades.

If you are scamming, don't doubt you'll get name shamed on the downlow.

Good luck.

Completely disconnection consequence from action, or lack thereof, is a dangerous position to play.

Since you seem to be so apt at comparing real life to a game, I'll do the same.
You see, in real life, we have these things called preventative measures. The "victim", as you call it, is responsible for their own well being. This is why you take preventative measures - to greatly reduce, if not nullify, the chance of something bad happening to you.
Just to tear down the SJW bandwagon you're playing at, you don't go walking around a bad part of town in the middle of the night with money hanging out of your pockets and a sign with how much you make per year with a notarized signature on it, then blame "the urban community" for why you got mugged. Victim or not, you are always responsible for what happens to you.

Much the same in PoE, you are 100% resonsible for what happens to you because it doesn't happen without your permission. You're not getting invaded in Dark Souls, you're giving someone permission to do something. Did some guy steal your Perandus? It's your fault for allowing it. Did some guy scam you out of a few Chaos on an Atziri run you bought? It's your fault for allowing it.

The big problem with your ideology is that it throws personal responsibility out the window. Instead of analyzing your own actions, identifying what you did wrong, learning from it, and taking steps to prevent it in the future, you're all too quick to blame someone else instead of taking responsibility for not preventing it and allowing it.
Please, go back to Tumblr. It's apparent that a game that doesn't hold your hand isn't your cup of tea. You need everything done for you and you need in-game assistance to "protect you from the bad people".

Shortly put: Fuck off.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.

LOL

You missed my point entirely, but what can I expect from someone like you. I won't assume you are a scammer. Your assumptions about me are wrong on every point by the way.

I did say that you should try to protect yourself, as there are scum in the game as there are in real life. Whether or not you choose to be scum is your responsibility, your choice.
How does scamming make you feel?

Move from there.

Yeah, if you think making other people feel as bad as you do is a decent thing to do, go ahead. Just let me know so i can ignore you first in case I were to come across you in game.

All this moving around decorations to wall off portals is doing it the hard way. Set your hideout to allow friends in and friend the person. Don't party with him. He won't be able to use your portals unless he is partied with you. And you can trade with him in your hideout without partying with him.

IMO if you get scammed it's completely your fault and it's entirely preventable.

Sure, scammers are scumbags... but I also lock my doors when I park in the city.

Ironic how you berate others for being scum when you literally are scum yourself.

You're still missing the point.
How are they scum? Literally everyone does it. Even the government. Let's stop calling it "scamming" and call it what it really is: taking advantage of stupid people. We all do it.
Sometimes it's for entertainment, other times it's for monetary gain. It's pretty universal.

Oh wait, you're probably going to try and assert that you're an altruistic person who does no wrong, right?

If you generate enough reports you can be locked out whilst an investigation takes place but from what i can ascertain you wont get banned by just scamming only if your involved in other actual bannable offences - see RMT or account sharing.

Its really easy to not get scammed guys - engage your brain and it wont happen more than once.

Oh I know you aren't getting your account back.

Don't you mean "Oh I_NO you aren't getting your account back?" :)

Thank you, I'll be here all week!

You keep trying to justify your behaviour, and it's not working. We obviously don't 'all do it' or society would be in even worse shape than it is.

I'd hate to run into you in real life and I pity all those around you.
