I am a scammer - Account locked?

At least in EVE you can pool some ISK for someone to hunt this fucker down with his "virtual, unworthy pixelate ingame property". But here, what can we do? Go after every of his trade chat message and call him out like a lunatic? There's no consequence! Hah, I bet this guy will sure find another way to ruin other's experience. "Why not? Just gonna brag about it harder so GGG will set my account free and change me name to whatever the fuck I want."

Eve Bounties are horribly implemented and they hardly even matter.

If anything, Eve had the right attitude regarding scammers. You have to be pretty dumb (or new) to get scammed. It's your fault. Get pissed, cool off, and come back with more experience to not get scammed.

On every other game, they treat the ToS like a moral compass. I have no problem with scammers. If they get money, good for them. If they don't, oh well. The only difference between a scammer and someone selling items for too much is at least the scammer has the balls to own up to it.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
Thanks GGG.
If I had anything remotely resembling money and/or free time, I would start poeplayerratings.com. Its sole functions would be to name and shame scammers and provide positive feedback for reputable service providers. GGG says we can't do that here, and that's fine, it's their website... but why the hell aren't we, as a community, already doing this in an organized manner?

I do disagree with the idea that GGG shouldn't let OP do what he did, however. That doesn't mean I believe we should let him, or people like him, do those things.
When Stephen Colbert was killed by HYDRA's Project Insight in 2014, the comedy world lost a hero. Since his life model decoy isn't up to the task, please do not mistake my performance as political discussion. I'm just doing what Steve would have wanted.

This is not Eve. In PoE some trades simply will require trust from 1 side at the minimum. So the possibility to get scammed is always there. It's good to know GGG has decided to publicly announce scamming is fine though. Im sure this will make this game alot better!

No. They don't.
You're right, this isn't Eve. However, this is still common sense.
There is no valid situation in which you need to give someone currency without receiving a product at the same time.

So you are suggestion the person who has the product should just give it first, so then he can get scammed because he aint getting paid? What's the difference. 1 party is always gonna be in the position of possibly getting scammed with certain trades.

And this thread is a clear indication everyone can just scam as much as they like. Just don't do it to often. Aslong as they don't get hassled at support to much, you can fuck over as many people as you like.

No, I'm suggesting you actually start playing this game before posting on the forums.
The trading window in PoE is pretty secure:

1) Both players place item in window
2) Both players have to check the other window
3) Once confirmed, items cannot be changed
4) If items change, they must be re-examined by other player

Unless you're completely inept, this is a pretty nice implementation. Better than a lot of older games.
And yet, here we are, crying about "wahh scammers wahh". If anything, this thread is a clear indication of how bitchy the common gamer is. I got scammed in other games. I got over it and learned from it.

Hell, I even got podded in a duel on Eve. I got pissed that I lost one of my first ships but then I got pissed at myself for even falling for it. So? I learned from it.

I suggest you follow your own advice. Nobody is talking about trading through a tradewindow. I thought that was obvious. There are plenty of examples that you would know if you would actually play this game. Atziri service/master service and ofcourse the league specific cadiro mess we have right now.

And now you will probably say avoid all that stuff. Or better yet, everyone should just play SSF. Problem solved. Jeez how thick are some people like you that try and be smart but actually really lack any game experience to see the problem i guess.

Ah, yes. The "service" mess:

"Pay me currency and I'll play the game for you"

Very secure.
There is no way to make something like that secure in any game. You always run the inherent risk of the guy skipping off with the money or simply not paying. The solution to that is obvious: Stop being a lazy cunt and do it yourself.

The Cadiro fiasco is just people being greedy. There are lots of people, myself included, who post the Cadiro deals in Global and don't demand a fee. Likewise, I'm sure if you weren't so anti-social, you could find people to run Atziri with you.
On that note, why are you paying for Atziri in the first place?

You just proved you are incapable of having a discussion so i will end it here. Gl with your anti social SSSSSF gameplay and paranoid behaviour.

I addressed your concern and apparently that's "incapable of having a discussion".
Face it, the "services" mess can never be inherently secure. Not without a lot of backend edits from GGG and, let's face it, in a social oriented game, that really defeats the purpose.

But don't mind that. You don't have to explain or defend your position. Call me bad names, make up assumptions, and strut away victoriously. Because that's the appropriate attitude to have in a thread about scammers.

PS - I'd rather kick you and keep the scammers, at least they have balls.
If you're reading this, I'm probably on another year-long ban.
