I am a scammer - Account locked?
Ok guys so to give you a quick TLDR.
First week of the league i got scammed by a pretty clever set up involving walling off your map device in your hideout whilst stating you have a great cardio deal on the active map. The scammer stated he was just protecting himself with the wall and asked for fee first to stop ppl zergin the tps without paying. Sounded legit enough,i paid,got told it was a scam and i congratulated the gent on such a unique setup. That said I was pissed (ofc) thought i might be able to report it but did some research and found out scamming was legal.This was an eye opener for me being a 6year old EvE online vet i now knew the rules and thought id put some schemes into play myself. I ran the same scam for about 7hours of one day with good results and whilst browsing the POE reddit noticed i had been called out by one of my marks. Now morals aside here I knew what i was doing was within the rules of the game and not against the TOS so i decide to defend my position and also explain clearly how the scam works. Of course i got a fair bit of hate (completely expected) but even I on the reddit post said I would be happy with long term rep issues cause of this. I'm not a guy to ask for a name-change cause I sullied mine scamming. Now i go to bed wake up the next morning go to log in and NOPE account locked.Tells me to contact support. Oh shit - I think to myself did i misunderstand something RE trading scams,did i actually go too far and break some sort of TOS.I tell myself to chill write an email to support RE the lock and wait. I get the first and only reply (as of so far) the next morning stating "I will forward this on to our accounts investigation team who may be able to assist you further in this matter. If you have any additional questions in the meantime please feel free to let us know." I did have additional questions mostly WHY i was locked in the first place but after 4 separate mails no response. I have to assume my account is under investiagtion even though i haven't been told as much but i have no idea as to why.I dont RMT,I dont account share,I dont use forumgold from places like D2jsp,Even though I was scamming people I did it as gentlemanly as possible.No racism no swearing no calling people idiots. I have received no indication as to why my account has been locked,My steam account is no longer linked to the account in question,and all toons bar 2 of them do not show up in my profile on the site. Look guys i don't expect to win popularity contests by being a self proclaimed scammer,I know a lot of you think i deserve the ban for scamming anyways,but what I did was truly supposed to be within the rules. If i broke any ToS i am happy to take the punishment on the chin but i feel like I should have at least a clear line of communication as to why not only my account is locked but it looks like characters have actually been wiped from my account. I expect a lot of hate gents - go easy its just a video game and one where i was under the impression that scamming was well within the ruleset. I guess at this point its just a waiting game but i do wish support could be a little more open in there communication with me - I haven't spent a heap of money on the game but its enough to justify wanting to protect my investments as well as the 3.5k hours put into it. I understand where your coming from bud - But i truly do care.
I don't even know what i'm leaving in supports hands to be honest - I have received 1 reply only. Has anyone had any experience or has read anything about scamming leading to a ban/lockout. |

If you truly care about your account, you will follow the process as defined by GGG and their Support team.
Their investigations prior to and during contesting a ban are extremely involved and time-consuming. Sometimes (no doubt) they fuck up. But, posting here will not expedite the process, it will not garner you sympathy or empathy, at best you can hope for some entertaining shit-posts, at worst you can hope for quick thread lock or deletion. Give them time, and you will get a fair outcome. A word of caution, though, a fair outcome doesn't necessarily mean it will benefit you. == Officially Retired 27/02/2019 ==

I understand all that mate but literally i haven't even been told my account is under investigation as of yet - I have had to assume that is the case from the wording of the ONLY reply i have had.
I can imagine the process being time consuming and a massive PITA for the support team indeed,but a little communication with me wouldn't hurt. I'm literally just wanting a heads up as to why the lock. The only reason im on the Forums is due to the lack of any communication from support and the fact I haven't had a reply to any questions either is frustrating even though the first reply told me to not hesitate in contacting support with any questions. This said i'm more than happy to give them time (just wish they could tell me this) Im not looking to garner support or sympathy just venting some frustration at the situation and who knows some entertaining shit posts might keep me distracted from not playing for a bit. I appreciate what your saying nait - but please see it from my side too :) " This hits the nail on the head beautifully for me thank you - I have been giving no process to follow.Literally zero information bar the fact my original mail asking why the lock, has been passed onto the investigation team. I'm a little unclear on the timeline, but personally I would expect answers within 3 days of your initial email. As in actual answers beyond "We'll look into it." Not from any sort of GGG policy or statement, purely from the perspective of "If I'm not worth you're time, then you aren't worth mine."
To be perfectly honest, I'm surprised there doesn't seem to be a system where an automated email is sent with a 1-2 line description of the offense triggering the lock/ban/whatever. |

It is an easy process to follow. You wait until they reply to your emails.

Yeah i figured i might have to wait the weekend out I just cant understand for the life of me why support took a days to write a single mail back that explained nothing.
They said i could contact them with any questions which I did but I still received no reply to them. Can you at least see where i'm coming from? |
