armor has no impact on traps at all, in fact nothing does they just do %of your max life/es

Hmm, well all I know is 2-3 traps hit him and boom he's dead ... yet when I level with him, he flies through tier 11+ maps without issue. CI/ES users can't pop a flask and move on like life-based builds. If only they made an ES-based flask ... but I'm sure that would cause anger from others ... who knows.

Currently I'm stuck on cruel Izaro with my lvl 66 Earthquake Templar. He simply does too much damage to me. Guess I'll have to upgrade my gear and then roll over him later.

Well I am a GGG fanboy but I can see your point. New hard content that isn't really optional if you want to take advantage of the new tree is something unprecedented.
Atziri, hard maps/map bosses? Optional. Exiles, boxes? Optional.
But Labyrinth is not really optional if you want a build that is on par with the current meta.
Having said that, there was non-optional content that gated either progress or invaluable rewards.
The bandits. Remember when Oak was hard? People died to Oak all the time. Hell, I remember running an Oak service for levelling players in Normal/Cruel and charge 2c for it. In Softcore :) Must have been a lot more nasty in HC.
Then - Malachai. You had to beat Cruel Malachai to get to Merciless and boy was that a gear/skill check. Still is for some. Again, this must be that much harder in HC.
So Lab is something similar, the boss is hard but people will adapt.
We need to get harder and harder bosses because the old bosses get easier and easier as players learn their mechanics.
Remember when Vaal Oversoul was THE hardest boss in the game? People feared the fight and died left and right. Then Piety. Who dies to Piety now? Then came Dominus and then Malachai. Now we have Izaro.

Ok, that's what I suspected. I too had this problem with lag spiking around traps, especially sawblades or Floor Is Lava Oh No would be an instaRIP even in Normal and I doubled down on granite flasks (usually just carry one).
I'm not sure it's 'unplayable' but I suspect the point is to be super overleveled considering the rewards.

Hi!
Being Chaos Inoculation and running the labyrinth, is pretty hard.
I'm not that great at running the labyrinth, but it's annoying not to be able to see the overview of the traps, which at the more dangerous setups, sometimes means you're going in blind, since you can't see the whole thing.
I'm using flamedash+faster casting+less duration as a movement skill, but sometimes it doesn't proc even though it's at maximum charges.
My instinct when flamedash doesn't work is to press it again, but this usually results in me getting hit by a trap, then the panic starts, because unlike life based builds I cannot use a potion to regain life, and another hit by a trap would kill me. I'm stun and freeze immune, so that's not a problem.
I have 10.700 ES and +55% recharge rate, but this is not fast enough to recharge between traps.
My Vaal Disciplines resets between zones, so they're no help either.
Right now I don't have my last 2 ascendancy points and with this build I probably never will.
My point is, that I'm disapointed by this content being mandatory to get a complete character and that malfunctioning movement skills are now required to get a complete character build.

It's very punishing if you're playing other than an armor class it seems. Almost all of his attacks seem to one shot my EVA build chars. Normally not a problem but you have to basically get lucky rolls to not get randomly stunned or outright one shotted.

interesting problem. you might be able to use some jewels or uniques with faster start of energy shield recharge.
a couple http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Brittle_Barrier
or just rare/magic ones would be fairly easy to swap in
