Who still can not "Ascend" and why?

I'm done with the labyrinth. I'm too salty to go on. My internet is very poor and the traps are laughably unfair. Half the time the traps are warping around making it impossible to judge anything. I was really excited to try the new ascendancy classes but this is just a major let down. I may just not play anymore ...
My first run on the Lab was a joke. I didn't know what to expect, but just decided to kill everything I came across.

That was what I did.

A few hours later, I realized how damn mind-numbingly boring this new lab setup all was.

So I left...but I had learned a lot.

Next run, I just flasked my way through everything, killed a few things that got in my way including that big guy, whatever his name was.

Traps, ledges, obstacles etc.. use flasks ... and two other important additions to my char :

Whirling Blades and Lightning Warp on switch.

This makes it so much easier.

Disregard all the keys, chests, etc. Just go find and kill Izaro.

I disliked the whole lab experience thing. It's awful. Not fun, just boring.

Love this game, but damn! Ascendancy sux.

I tried once, died at the 2nd boss fight and realized that I have to go through the entire thing again, and said 'eh, that wasn't fun, why would i do that again?' and haven't tried since.

So sorry your off screen build couldn't see what was going on, off screen. Oh and bye.

My build normally works just fine (Lightning Arrow/Blast Rain crit Ranger build). However Izaro has several massive AoE attacks that force you to stay well away from him if you want to live and the only way to beat him without burning through flasks quickly is to kite him. Even with having a flask with knockback effects doesn't seem to give me too much space to throw down some blast rain on him for very long. So the whole fight is more or less hit and run guerrilla tactics. Meh, doable though not my idea of fun. However, in trying to keep distance from him, it gets hard to see the usual visual cues of what attack is coming. Am I asking for a nerf to any of it? No, not really. I'm more about adapting to the content rather than the other way around. But I'm also not looking to play hardcore lite either. If I want to "experience the adrenaline rush hardcore players experience", I'd just roll a hardcore character (which I have for races and whatnot).

As for your bye, I got nothing but middle fingers for you. That's all I need to say on that.

After 1 hour 15 minute, I still had not found the 1st Izaro fight. I did discover the back tracking to use the silver and gold keys, in the their respective doors, was very annoying and lost a lot of time.

And once you get a bit of experience with the place you'll do it much faster than this even if you choose to do all the completely optional content and kill everything because you get to know the building blocks the areas are composed of.

As everything else in the game, it is a question of experience.

Also, and this goes almost without saying, having a quicksilver flask is really useful when backtracking is needed, as is runspeed on boots. (As well as being helpful with several traps.)

One very important distinction: Silver doors lead to silver caches of extra goodies and do not block progression in the labyrinth. This makes them entirely optional.

Golden doors lead to another zone and may block progression if they are the only means of reaching the next zone along the main road to the next Izaro encounter.

I will try it again, but I have to get this bad taste out of my mind. I will have to run past mobs, and ignore keys, and try not to die to the immortal traps.

Only if you want to do it as quickly as possible.

Wow, this was not fun...

Ps, do you get a chance to empty your characters inventory, while in the Labyrinth? Or should I just pickup currency?

You do.

Immediately before each Izaro fight you enter the Aspirant's trail - a minizone where you can access your stash to dump your loot so far or change what equipment you use. Having one or two stash tabs free to fill with labyrinth loot is a good idea if you are a completionist type of player.

Thanks for the helpful suggestions, Pi2rEpsilon.

Have a great day!

Ahahahaha nice joke.

Funny words coming from an Ascendant Supporter. How can you give your support to something that you do not like?
If you support what you don't like are giving your approval for them to continue doing things you don't like...

Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?

I support the PoE game because I would like it to continue.

That does *not* mean that I like all of it, or even agree with what GGG are currently doing!

I do *not* like the way that GGG has set up Ascendancy with the Labyrinth.

I wasn't joking when I made my posts about this new patch/update.

It doesn't mean that I will stop supporting the game of PoE, I would like to see it evolve further into an outstandingly good one.

As it now stands, as far as I am concerned that is, Perandus and the Labyrinth are terrible.

For newer players, inexperienced, under geared and relatively poor in currency it's a nightmare.

Server drop-outs, freezes, etc, etc..back to the start again after several deaths, slogging through passageways over and over to try and find Izaro just to get your Ascendancy...does this sound like something a newer player wants or needs?

I don't think so.

You could say that this is all part of a new patch.

Sure, and Chris has said that they are working hard on the server glitches.

However, why would you, I or anyone else want to experience the "taste of being a HC player" in a game when we don't choose to do so???

That is crazy!.

Which new player would want to spend hours trying to get their Ascendancy like this???

I would like GGG to separate Ascendancy from the Labryinth.

Let those who want to run it, go ahead. Farm it. But please, separate Ascendancy from it altogether.

To sum it all up for you then Exile "Actkqk" ... I support this game of PoE because I like playing it.

That does *not* mean I agree with the current way that this new patch has been set up by Chris and GGG.

I believe that it needs to be changed.

Sure, but... I don't know how works GGG in terms of planning content. But it may not be possible if a lot of people play and you add that people give their support (as is your case), they may think they are on the right path and continue to create similar content?...
All because people keep giving them their support even if they do not like in the slightest what they are doing.

Bethesda is known for having good ideas and terrible realization of them. GGG is a Bethesda subsidiary or what?
