Izaro - Is he overtuned?

I could take his charges, melee hits, leap slam, bring downs and fireballs with Fortify and Endurance Charges on but something always 1 shot me. I guessed it's fireballs with full enchants or another far shot/screen-wide explosion but basically no clue since I saw no animations every time when I was 1 shot.

Edit: sorry for double posting.
Everything I do should be wrong so please correct me if I do it right <3

I too find Izaro crazy as a melee. Malachai is a piece of cake compared to him (can easily do Malachai deathless and even tank most of his abilities).

I tried going in on CRUEL Izaro after finished up merciless story with level 63 and still got two-shotted. Not even able to defeat cruel, I cannot fathom how to beat him on merciless.

And yes, I am aware of his mechanics and I do try my best to avoid everything. But even the fractions of a second where I have to go up to him in order to get some hits in are enough for him to blast my face.

As someone with a full time job, I can currently only say: fuck the labyrinth - I do not have enough time to waste it on doing this crap over and over and not getting anything out of it (no xp, no usable loot and not even chests, since I cannot defeat Izaro).
On normal he seems very easy. Haven't had time to do cruel and merciless so I don't know about that.

He is fine, the only major issue with the Izaro fight is the fact that it is hard to tell when he will keep or not keep some of the mechanics between fights.

for example yesterday (and until 7 pm today est) he had a first fight where he got elemental attacks. now i and the dude i was playing with touched all the statues and could not touch them further when we killed him off.

but they were technically coming out of the floor . we had to deal with all 3 the next fight and were wondering what the hell had happened.

Izaro is quite do able so long as that kind of crap doesnt happen. standard blah Izaro cant one shot anyone:

above 1.5k hp in normal
above 2.5k hp in cruel
above 3.5k hp in merci

if you have capped resists for each difficulty , then he physically cannot one shot you without those buffs. so ggg really need to do a better job communicating with the player about when these mechanics can be disabled and when they will count toward the next fight.

I've been too busy to even try it yet, but I am really enjoying the upset.

Don't nerf it before I get to try it, GGG.
It's funny that i thought statues wasn't supposed to be touched so i tried with active buffs. My hunch is that he's not overtimes at all but some buffs are. In some situations he was piece of cake but with other buffs it was easily one shorting me.

So, izaro is not overtimes, some buff are. Good thing is that while buffed loot is very good, so if you learn about buffs and keep the ones you like it can became quite profitable.
For an Emperor to be just, an Emperor must be patient.
He need to be nerfed or the level of the map need go to the minimum of 40, 60 and 80.

I would put 43, 63 and 83.
He is very very fat and that's my concern. I'd like his HP reduced.
New mute system is terrible - no trade...
Reached Izaro (stages 1 and 2 at least) for the first time this evening.

First was "conduits", second some kind of elementals he absorbs.

The conduits were...not what I would call good communication. I find out what the statues do by reading four or five small lines of text in the top-middle of the screen where I want to spend as little time looking as possible. To see the text I hover my cursor over the statue. Hovering my cursor over the statue means I can't do anything else while I'm doing that. But I need to do things (like run) because this is a boss fight. And it's a boss fight of a difficulty not remotely signposted by the trivial monsters in the level 33 labyrinth (I was L41).

I think I only managed to half-read the conduit descriptions, I saw they give damage etc to Izaro, but because they were activatable objects as opposed to enemies, I assumed they gave damage to him if I activated them. Because I'd heard this was a multi-phase fight with mechanics that pass on, I clicked on two, thinking it must be some kind of risk/reward thing where you give yourself an optional challenge in this phase to help with the next phase. Turns out I had that all wrong of course, and yeah, maybe it was a silly thought, but hey, no time to stop and think.

I noticed they come back up, but I've now read that if they're up at the end of the fight they're up for good from then on? Was that explained? I didn't notice if it was, but I could have missed a line.

The elementals I don't have as much of a problem with design-wise (there was less text, at least, but I ignored the first one I saw for way too long because I thought it was just a monster). Had a really hard time bringing any down before they got absorbed, and after he'd eaten a few I didn't last too much longer - I see now that his high damage at that point also had something to do with the statues I didn't know to take down in the last fight. But I really thought I should have been able to kill at least one elemental having faced no problem from anything else in the game and being eight levels above the zone. Again, if this is supposed to be an Act 4-level boss, fine, but please signpost it as such so I don't waste my time.

So as someone who often has to play in short chunks out of necessity, I'm a bit disappointed with the labyrinth at this point. I think I made about five attempts and I've nothing to show for it, and on Normal difficulty that's just a silly situation. I don't feel like I really learned about the fight by playing the fight, I feel I learned about it by coming to the forum, but even if that weren't the case, padding out those brief learning experiences with running through the same dungeon again is just that - padding. I don't gain anything by redoing everything up to Izaro just to have another shot at Izaro, getting back there is trivial once I've done it once. I would really appreciate checkpoints after each fight for the exact same reasons you have checkpoints throughout the rest of the game.
