Labyrinth - 10 minute run and few tips for people who struggle

will do, i do not have any sub 85 character ATM but will select something.. well.. less stellar like 2h marauder or whatever.

trap damage is based on % of total EHP so my life/ES totals are irrelevant when observing trap damage

Not necessarily, as your ES recharges MUCH faster than life ever could (so less stopping and flasking and finding enemies to refill flasks), and Izaro, not being a trap, might tear up a "normal" character much more easily. You were able to basically just tank him.

But still, the most effective thing seemed to be speed. The lab would suck for full-summoner builds, but that's why you never go full-summoner. ;)

Oh right sure, I'll create a lvl 80+ build with GG gear and OP stats real quick, ez right? Trololol.

Worst OP ever, it stinks of elitism and no life.

From watching your video (disclaimer, i havent run labyrinth yet) it seems more of ggg's boring ehp meta, seems like a good run and a good build but i can see why ppl are complaining.

Why?
Because the need to use their own brain is unexpected for people who used to copy other people' builds.
Who used to out-dps maps with 500k+damage without bothering about strategy and planning (which is required in Labyrinth).
Who used to mindlessly play the H'n'S game for time killing.
etc etc

And stacking really high ehp is less mindless? what i would like is ggg to focus on challenge outside of oneshots, at present and for like always the game has been all pre strategy to avoid one shots as opposed to danger danger low health react.

done. 12 minutes this time. however due to the 'speed' my connection runs on - 48min remaining at this time.

that build is very tanky vs enemies (contrary to what some expert claim.. and it wasnt even expensive - not cheap, but not multiexalt)
Spoiler

however i find marauder with leap slam and some life regen much better vs traps in general. esp the leap slam allows for stuff whirling blades just cannot do
Wish the leaderboards where up already, on today STD merci labyrinth my run time is around 7 minutes. I could probably drop to 6 with a perfect run.

The saddest thing is that loading time are definitly making my run longer than it should and I run the game on ssd.
Thanks again.

I'm experimenting with the difficulty levely of the trials myself.

That's right. DIFFICULTY LEVELY.

Spoiler

Are you taking into account that he apparently drops more loot/keys if you take steps (or rather, don't take steps) to make his final encounter more difficult? I strongly doubt GGG would have messed with his loot this early into the update, especially not when a lot of people find him very difficult.

Other than that, very informative. Nice early Labyrinth-tips post. I expect to see more of these soon.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.

I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period.
Ok so I just did two labyrinth runs in a row with my lvl 88 facebreaker duelist. One was 10 minutes, second one was around 12. Does it make labyrinth a good content? Nope, still sucks.

If you have a need to skip everything and run through it just shows that the content is lacking in fun department. The traps are boring, puzzles are not puzzling, but just time wasting, boss has too much HP for character that is zone level, however is very easy when you go with a high level one, since his cheap attacks no longer oneshot you.

I've done it only for enchants (need my BoR to have a cyclone enchant), but since there are 300+ variations, there is probably no chance I will go there. It is just not fun, if some think that dodging traps with so many movement skills ingame is difficult in itself, then I don't want to see what people consider easy. The hard part of traps is LAG - I died a lot to traps, just because I got lagged on multitrap room, fire grate trap rooms also chews up FPS like crazy.

So in conclusion, it is a poorly made instance. Main problems are: dc = start again, traps are easy since you can cheese it with movement skills, entire instance is badly optimized not only for hardware, but also for players with same level as the zone, puzzles are not puzzles, just leaver pulling or key carrying task (is Duke Nukem considered a puzzle game in other countries?), loot is lacking, random enchantments are not a good reward, making this mandatory to get new skillpoints that are insanely OP is a bad idea altogether. GGG dropped the ball hard here.

ofc i do. on day1 the same 'bare' Izaro rained some rares and blues. right now i can encounter a run without a single rare item whatsoever. maybe there is some kind of 'soft' diminishing return mechanic built in - the more i farm him the less he drops or whatever. no matter what has happened - something changed, the difference is very easy to notice given the sample size already

chest drops however seem consistent.

Uploaded second run, this time with a lot less stellar character + blunder with auras that i do not want to talk about :)
