Labyrinth - 10 minute run and few tips for people who struggle
Ive recorded one of my Lab runs (sorry for the 'black screens and XSplit screens' but this is the only recording soft I have)
run time 10:04 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ZLmrLvxmMc potential gains ~1 minute by equipping a single target skill (double strike seems perfect), ~1 minute by not doing stupid things in the gold key run, ~30secs by deciding BEFORE the run if I want to do Argus or not (you can see me backtrack from just his doorsteps) I'd also like to show people that they ARE VERY WRONG saying that Life/EV/ES hybrids are bad and to say that Faster Start of ES Recharge is the most important stat for hybrid or ES builds in general. This is amazingly tanky build for a 'crap build' (judging by 'knowledgable' streamers opinions - they get carried hard by trading and gear doing mostly FOTM builds..). I do no use life leech. Check how ES/Life behave during Izaro fight Few labyrinth tips: - the only 'static' thing is the mini-map (including keys and special items) and the 'set of big entities' like the '2nd room has fire floor section'. but its implementation, shape and size is random. - you run labyrinth for enchants. not for loot, not for xp, not for uniques (albeit there are lab-only items - all from the low-demand shelf however) - you have to decide BEFORE the run if you go for quick run or if you go for Argus and/or silver chests. chests drop surprisingly good quantity of currency items. - whirling blades is NOT the best skill for lab. Leap Slam is. fixed range on whirling blades is dangerous. - mobs are there just to refill your flasks. kill them if they annoy you, kill rare/magic ones but remember why you are in the labyrinth: to get to enchants as quickly as possible - learn the 'building blocks'. maps are generated from a set of few-screens in size blocks. most 'secret' areas are immediately obvious when spotted because they use one type of blocks. - rooms with Golden Keys are build on a square and you run them clock-wise. ALWAYS. i think that there might be some hidden shortcuts there and there but havent spotted any pattern yet. - 'secret passage' can lead you BACKWARDS - i do not recommend using them on quick runs - waiting for ES to recharge is not a shame. you are there to complete a run. 11 min run is better than 'resurrect in town'. - Izaro is a cakewalk IF approached with understanding. He is most probably too easy - however it is clear to me that something has been done with his loot as he drops WAY less items than on day 1. - your gear means little. your sheet DPS is irrelevant. your Gorge clear speed is meaningless. if you cannot accept that you are starting this game from noob-level again and have to learn new stuff and you cannot bruteforce stuff - pay someone to pull you trough. Lab culls the weak. Speed runs trough the Lab is as close to classic boss run as possible. Amazing addition for hardcore gamers. Last bumped on Mar 9, 2016, 4:18:15 AM

" If you want tanky, I mean real tanky totally broken tanky that something is probably going to become nerfed, legacy, or completely changed, then: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Soul_Strike + occultist wicked ward (energy shield is not interrupted by damage if recharge began recently). With essence surge + shavs for +175% faster start of ES recharge, you regen to full if you can avoid damage for 0.73 seconds. (compared to 1.48 seconds with your trickster's ghost dance + essence surge, that stops if you take damage) Anyway, yeah, totally broken immortal voltaxic reflect proof witch ftw. " this quiver is more or less - a trap it provides little ES in itself. shield on my build gives me 2200ES it has a very minute but extremely important '40% slower recharge'. this is huge downside and in all: it allows to quick 'burp' of ES recharge due to small ES pool in general. tried that but the only way of making it work was to go full CI with aura effect + Discipline. and even then it was a 'very quick ES recharge burp' |

wicked ward renders the downside irrelevant

From watching your video (disclaimer, i havent run labyrinth yet) it seems more of ggg's boring ehp meta, seems like a good run and a good build but i can see why ppl are complaining.

" Why? Because the need to use their own brain is unexpected for people who used to copy other people' builds. Who used to out-dps maps with 500k+damage without bothering about strategy and planning (which is required in Labyrinth). Who used to mindlessly play the H'n'S game for time killing. etc etc Labyrinth is not THAT hard to begin with. I'd say it is even unexpectedly easy and... i don't know... predictable? After some time people will learn how to "manipulate" Izaro and his buffs\statues completely and then Labyrinth will become some ordinary thing like it was with Dominus, Atziri, Malachai and such. Remember, suffering is convenient. That is why many people prefer it. Happiness requires effort. Last edited by HarukaTeno#6546 on Mar 6, 2016, 1:56:14 PM

" Maybe because, you know, that's what people play H&S games for? If I want to play strategy game, I play strategy game, like chess. If I want to dive deeply into lore, I play some cRPG. And if I want to mindlessly slaughter millions of mobs, I play H&S. And this I expect from PoE, to be H&S. If not, I will adapt. I mean, find H&S which is true H&S, not some retarded hybrid, which is not good for anything. Anticipation slowly dissipates... Last edited by tmaciak#3784 on Mar 6, 2016, 2:03:54 PM

Awesome video, thanks!
It helps to see what to do during the normal Labyrinth parts. I think you should run it on a less powerful character though, if you want to help people learn how to beat Izaro. The Izaro fights seemed super easy for you, probably because you have over 4k HP and 5k ES. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" Don't forget the completely absurd levels of damage. What he does in this video is almost completely irrelevant to anyone who's complaining about the labyrinth. They're playing characters in temp leagues that are at a level reasonably close to the labyrinth and they don't have GG gear. His profile's private, but I think it's safe to assume his gear is well into GG territory. |

You make this look WAY too easy, LOL, and fun!
So then ... LOADS of ES and a movement skill, and a superfast regular attack. Most builds may not support this, especially the ES, but at least the movement gem should be acquirable by just about anyone. Edit: I, too, would like to see this run on a less OP character. -VG- Invited to Beta 2012-03-18 / Supporter since 2012-04-08 Last edited by VideoGeemer#0418 on Mar 6, 2016, 2:34:06 PM
