I think it would be nice to have a guide to how to reduce risks within the labyrinth.
Would someone with experience in making guides be nice enough to contact me so that we can prepare such a guide together?

I'm sorry, but as an intelligent person, saying that you have to overlevel it in order to have a chance is not "how it should be", its an indication that is is way too difficult.
Why are people so accepting of a poor design/mistake? Don't you think its reasonable to say "If you have to dramatically over level it to have a chance, then it needs to be adjusted downward" ?
You don't have to over-level. Personally, I completed it at level 37 (started at 35 and got 2 levels while completing the labyrinth) -- that's quite reasonable, but I expect everyone's experience to be different (and that's ok).
Think of it this way -- if you find the content too hard "at level", then GGG has given you a backup option which is: come back when you're a higher level. That's a nice compromise don't you think?
If you are intent at completing it at level 33-35, then you must *plan* for it. My first attempt ended horribly for my poorly constructed hybrid totem scion. I didn't even try to salvage that character. Instead I started from scratch the next day with a new character and leveled to 33 with the Labyrinth in mind. Since I had tasted failure, I knew what to expect. I went for a Phase Acrobatics build with full evasion. I also picked skills that would do damage while I ran around like a chicken (because that's how "elite" I am). My second attempt (first attempt on my new character) was a success and felt very satisfying.
EDIT
Here are my build details for the successful run starting at lvl 35.
I would generally agree that the option to overlevel content in order to complete it is a nice thing to have. However, I do feel that if no other content requires overleveling except Izaro, then some adjustments are warranted.

Might also be nice to have a daily labyrinth thread with info about each day's layout and boss fight mechanics etc. And before anyone says, "But why should I help someone else beat me on the leaderboard?", I think it's safe to say that in order to be even remotely competitive, someone would have to do several runs per day and figure most of that stuff out on the first run through anyway. This would just help everyone else who's just trying to get through it at all.

It's the only challinging thing in Normal/Cruel. I like the difficulty. If you need 20+ tries to beat Malachai on normal then your build has bigger problems than the labyrinth my friend. Don't ask for a nerf before you learn how to play, that's what made the rest of the game too easy.

The only issue I have with this statement is where you say "requires overleveling". I think the main message the community is providing to you in this topic is that over-leveling is *not* required. It's an option for players that want to use it. It's possible to complete the labyrinth on-level -- and that's an option which you can use (or not).
Again, I'm not an elite player -- but I know my limitations and in my case I cannot perform anything complex. For example: melee is outside my skill level in this game. I need builds that allow me to run around (away) while still doing damage (so totems or DoTs work best for me). I try and play what works for my skill level, but also what is fun.
I do think you should play what you enjoy (otherwise why do it). If your build doesn't marry your play style with success in the labyrinth, then I would surely use the over-leveling strategy. It's still an accomplishment, regardless of how you tackled it.

Some Standard and Hardcore players (i.e. not those in the Perandus leagues) have a lot of characters that they want to Ascend. Running 18 Trials and 3 Labyrinths is a lot of work when you have several high-level characters from each previous challenge league.
We will be running a process tomorrow that will grant some Ascendancy points to existing Standard/Hardcore characters. Characters in Cruel will receive two points and characters in Merciless will receive four points.
You still need to run a Labyrinth to actually choose an Ascendancy class.
This means that if you run the Merciless Labyrinth, it'll be equivalent to running all three (due to the bonus four points). Note that this is a one-time process that we run, and only applies to existing permanent league characters.

Here's a couple things I learned about cruel Izaro. I'm average at vidya games and play melee.
The stuff that 1-shots you is meant to 1-shot you. Treat it like a marathon rather than a sprint and interact with the totem-things that he spawns - they do stuff. If you're melee, prioritize granites over runspeed and keep your endurance charges up. If you don't have endurance charges, you might want to consider investing in them. Try not to get leap slammed ever, but especially not when you're low on endurance charges. You will die real dead. Make sure you have the best weapon you can reasonably afford. I killed Izaro in cruel three levels above the zone with a mace I found for 2c. If you aren't using that melee totem, start using it - it's a great way to maintain some uptime while running away from stuff. When he gets the green aura, go man-mode and run away. If you stay in range, he'll port you onto sawblades that will hurt your anus.
That's all I can think of right now.

I am adult enough to ignore the childish replies, but the fact remains that there are many players like myself that require over 20 tries to kill the Act 4 boss. Yet, for Izaro, you don't get 20 tries.
We CANNOT complete the Labyrinth, and CANNOT get Ascendancy classes.
The boss needs a huge nerf.
im casual and can beat the boss just fine, id imagine your gear is the issue. Just come back after you are half way through the next difficulty. FFS can they not nerf every boss.
::edit:: i checked out your gear and oh my god your gear is beyond horrible for your level dude. It has nothing to do with your skill you simply have breath takingly horrible gear.
you are 41 with a 2 handed wep that doesnt even have over 100 damage. at 40 I had a 2h with 90-150 damageish.
there is no way your resists are anywhere near maxed, essentially zero life rolls.
Of course you cant beat the boss when your gear is the equivlant of a level 20s gear.
and for your build at 41 you only have like 52% increased life.
your gear gives i think +12 health.
fix these issues and try the boss again.

lmao -- your post is awesome. Next time I play, I'm gonna go "man-mode" all the way.
