Talisman feedback: Hope GGG has learned a lesson here
They'll look at stats, and the stats are that this is a popular league with high player retention so for what they see it's successful and likely to be copied and the forums just have a few overly noisy complainers.

" I fully agree about talisman, I played it till about lvl 35 and there was nothing there to keep my attention. It really didn't feel much different than playing in standard. Warbands on the other hand was fucking amazing. Not too much extra grinding, nice league only drops and the interactions with the warbands starting from a1n was just great. It actually made the early game fun and the late game more interesting imo. Just a lowly standard player. May RNGesus be with you.

Yeah, the only reason I even played it was because I played with a good friend. I agree with you on the rare talismans, they'll still roll awful most of the time, but the grind to get to Rigwald would have a better chance at not breaking you heart with the end result talisman.
I think the game itself feels better due to a lot of the balancing changes and that's why most people stuck around and played, but the actual core league mechanics were very poor/boring. I too play HC and don't like it to be one shot city like it was when Invasion first came out, but I do prefer content that is either rewarding or interesting. This was neither. " I was much closer to 500 hours this league than 50. But glad to see you're still the same jerk as always. |

" Yep, but it really could have been much better/fun with the league content. I played it a lot, but it didn't have much to do with anything. Summoning a couple of bosses over a multi week span because blue/white talismans might as well not have existed wasn't very much fun. |

" For one league? It's the "find kickass amulets" league after all. So I understand that might not have been their intent, but it would have been a lot more fun had it been. |

" Previous challenge MTX were far more doable. Their business model is based on player retention and transactions (I'd guess players who play less than 30 hours don't usually buy much). Retention is best obtained by having people play a lot fun over a long time. Having them look at the challenges and have no prayer from day 1 does not contribute to retention. If anything, it's the opposite "why bother". I think you are to presumptive about reward MTX undermining purchases in the shop. |

Personally I thought talismans were interesting, and fighting Rigwald was fun, but it didn't come in with the impact previous temp leagues had, instead it was ~1 monster an area, and it took too many talismans to fight Rigwald. All in all it was a good idea but it felt like it was prenerfed for core play instead of being a league thing.

" Now stop right here, previous MTX challenges happened in 1 month mixed leagues, you can't compare that. If you put indecent challenges in a 1m league you won't discourage only the most casual of the players but everyone that doesn't play 6 hours a day. Talisman challenges were supposed to keep us occupied three times as long and there's plenty of time over the course of 3 months for the market to stabilize so we can do the trade challenges. Of course, to get everything but the helm you didn't even need to do the trading challenges and the helm is ugly anyway, so the whole thing was overall very reasonable. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
