Ascendancy nut-ball theory-craft thread.

Thought about the Guardian a bit more. This nonsense turns 1 Reserved Life into 6 Armour I think (easy 15k Armour), rocking two Curses, Discipline and Determination. I might run it for the novelty factor. Definitely becoming more likely now that I gave it a think or two. Getting durability from anything-but-my-shitty-gear sounds good, and it's about time I get an Alpha's Howl.
(BM is lv14 for symmetry only) I'll probably only use The Consuming Dark if it happens to drop; odds are it'll be pricy, and so is good ES gear for a VRF character! :P -------- Dunno about Zombies. I'd want to get a little bit of Zombiespec in there - plenty of room for it luckily, Firestorm carries itself hard currently. I've always run without Minions so far. Hm. Guardian won't have all that many Auras, but Zombies will also get tons of Armour.. Zombies on a Necrolady: extra Duration, you also get Bone Offering, %PDR per Zombie.. Will probably give it a think as well. It has potential. The Assassin build definitely has way too much Crit Chance specced. :P As mentioned, forgot Power Charges are incredibly friggen good for Assassins. I'll probably roll a selfcast discharger assasin. Those 100% more crit chance against enemies on full hp is gonna wreck havoc...95% discharge crit chance? Free power charges with volls anyone?? (Oh, and that ridiculous crit multiplier...)
That should give some decent clearspeed with some aoe nodes to scale the effect up. My support/culler templar will be rocking 10 auras reserving most of his life and mana. If people pick IR to go with me, i'd give them like 10k armor before their own passives kicks in. Last edited by insilopeh#2874 on Feb 20, 2016, 12:53:44 PM

Not that creative, but I'm thinking about building a Gladiator and playing with Gratuitous Violence and Blood in the Eyes. Dual-wield swords, Acrobatics, block, and all the bleed nodes on the tree. Seems like a waste not to go crit being right next to so much of it, but I can't find the points to do it.
Undecided on the main skill to use to maximize the bleed damage. Cyclone would be nice since it'll make the mobs chase after me. Something with Chance to Flee could also work, though it'll probably make the mobs spread out and lower the explosion damage from Gratuitous Violence. |

I kinda wanted to try an assassin discharger where you get as many frenzy/power charges as possible and use blasphemy+poachers mark+assassins mark and then call of the brotherhood ring to convert most of the lightning damage to cold damage. Not sure if it would be enough damage to 1 shot the entire screen or not (and you basically have to 1 shot or else your screwed cause you have no charges).
Glacial cascade would be the backup skill to kill bosses/rares etc after you discharge. IGN- FrOArrow

" Just slot a hypothermia support gem in the discharge. A crit kill with herald of ice will be enough to generate charges. No need for assasins mark. You'll cap crit chance with power charges and the 100% more crit anyways. |

Honestly... I've got nothing. And I generally pride myself on my theorycrafting prowess.
I think it's more just due to my inspirations, which are usually about making a build AROUND, or involving, a new Unique (or making a new Gem work with old unused Uniques,) and thus without knowing what new Uniques are in Ascendancy... I've got nothing to work with. :S Though I do have an Iron Commander build planned, which will probably be a Pathfinder (or Scion if it's good.) And I do want to finally make a self-cast Lightning Warper using a Bronn's Lithe, so Trickster will be quite nice for that (100% Mana Reserved, Dual Apep's Rage, etc. :P) I kinda wanna see if I can make Mines work, even though they're kind of really bad right now (hopefully GGG buffs it in Ascendancy,) using a Tremor Rod and the Demolitions Specialist node from Saboteur, thus making each cast of a Mine lay ~2.6 Mines instead... Could be really strong. PS. Most people don't realize, but Trickster allows people to make RF Shadows. ~.^ EA IGN: We_Have_Monk_at_Home *Burnt out and waiting for either PoE1 League or new PoE2 Classes.* Last edited by Sheriff_K#3938 on Feb 20, 2016, 4:44:20 PM

This one idea I had might just be too complex...
You take a Trickster, see, and you teach him Shade Form for durability. Then you run up and... now this is the tricky part... point blank everything in the face with Freezing Pulse. It has to be the face. That bit's important. I'm Chimerical Jim. Softcore. Hardcore. Manticore.

" Tricky build man. Peace, -Boem- Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes

It's been a while since I built an Incinerator, so I might try making one as a Necromancer with Bone and Flesh Offering on CwDT. Seems like very good buffs to have for a character using that spell, plus the extra damage and cast speed you'd get from the Ascendancy passives.
