Ascendancy nut-ball theory-craft thread.

Thanks for your answer Boem but I am afraid I am not that advanced :). Not to mention I don't play standard. I just like the cyclone + mele feel of that skill.
And I am not after crazy end game at all.

Is all good.

But i would highly recommend you to try and obtain a "cybils paw" claw with your blade vortex build.

It is simply amazeballs. You won't regret it :)

It's usually very easily obtainable and it provides incredible durability to your character, which is important for a "melee caster".

It's a very neat skill, i hope you enjoy exploring options with it.

Peace,

-Boem-

edit : the necromancer option will easily be the cheapest to complete for you. It provides skill duration(increases blade vortex duration) and also increases your durability with bone offering or offenses with flesh offering.

Can I go Scion Necro and than something else? I am not sure how good those spectre buffs are for example. I have 0 experience with summoner characters in arpgs. I like meele in this game.
And in diablo3 most of wizard builds are like that anyway.

The point is to take the necromancer for the "mistress of sacrifice" ascendancy.

This will allow you to cast these buffs and have them apply to your character instead of minions.
http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Bone_Offering

http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Flesh_Offering

So your taking a "summoner" ascendancy, but using it for a different purpose :)

You would still be playing a "melee blade vortex witch".

I would go

witch -> necromancer ascendancy

normal difficulty labyrinth = mistress of sacrifice ascendancy
(have a desecrate gem to summon corpses when needed and bone + flesh offering and use those as require.
So the bone offering on hard fights when you need the block and the flesh offering when your farming)

cruel difficulty labyrinth = spirit eater ascendancy
(since you will be utilizing the offering skills, you will continuously be consuming corpses and this will grant you an additional 40% damage)

merciless difficulty labyrinth = This one is really up to the player.

-The physical reduction per zombie is cool, but means you will have to invest in minion nodes
- the aura one will not do very much, but it doesn't rely on minions for you to benefit, so you can skip any minions all together
- the beacon of corruption also depends on minions, but can be done with minimal investment since it requires your zombie's to die.(and you gain a bit of chaos resist)

As you can see, only the last pick of your ascendancy choice will have anything to do with minions if you want to. But you could as easily go the aura notable and just skip minions all together in your build, while still benefiting from the ascendancy for blade vortex.

Hope this makes a bit of sense :) a lot of the ascendancy classes have a lot more potential then is visible at first.

Enjoy the launch! And just experiment, if your new, your going to fail. Which is not a bad thing :) we all failed when we started, that's how we improved.

Peace,

No i assume not, the spells are triggered by the cast when damage taken set-up.

trigger =/= you casting

Correct. Orb of Storms only triggers when you activate a Lightning Skill - it doesn't apply to Triggers or Repeats. Fuck you Spell Echo, hahaha.
Ok I will try this witch necro way. Maybe I will throw some minions in the mix. I don't like witch voice acting but since the best voice(duelist) is gone I can play something else :D

I have never played a witch to high level maybe I will like her.
I think I'll try a build that combines Bloodlust with minion skills. I'm thinking about Gladiator + Dominating Blow (the "Spartacus Uprising" build) or a Necromancer with Puncture and Zombies (the "Benihana Chef" build). Not sure if either one will be effective, but I've been interested in trying a summoner/combat hybrid. Another idea would be a Ranger with bow Puncture and Mirror Arrow. If anyone has thoughts, I'm all ears.

If that doesn't work out, I might try a trapper--I've never played one, and there are some cool new options with the patch.
You have no idea what I'm incapable of.
I am doing great with that necro BV but I am not sure how to develop my character further after lvl 50. Should i go into HP or ES or hybrid?
