Ascendancy nut-ball theory-craft thread.

Can't wait to try Decoy Totem Marauder.
Besides of that I want to try a lot of untypical specs, melee Witches and especially a Duelist Wander, or Caster.
But I also love the Juggernaut class, I would love to do a Firetrapper, a Champion Summoner that fights in Melee and taunts, and, and, and...
Sigh, it'll be hard to stick to one class. It's already usually very hard for me to not jump to another char while leveling another, but this time will just be horrible. Too many good and new ways to create characters.
IGN: Scordalia_
i will do a tank witch based on the necromancer ascendancy

offensive skills will be arctic breath and frostwalls for groundice + shotgunning

the defense will be layered like this:

-block, a bit from nodes but mostly from cwdt/desecrate/bone offering (mistress of sacrifice)
-MoM for an additional 30% effective dmg reducement to avoid investing in mana i'll go for bloodmagic here and take EB to gain my ES as pseudo-mana for MoM (this way i also get most out of the massive life gain on block from bone offering)
-reflect immunity due to complete conversion (cold --> fire --> chaos)
-mobility from whirling blades (and a flame dash into the cwdt setup)

coreitems will be:
-shavronne's revelation (for passive ES refill)
-pyre/consuming dark/infernal mantle (for dmg conversion)

there are still some optional things you can adapt to that build:
-enhanced temporal chains (to make them nevermove)
-you could even go dual curse and take a enfeeble aswell
-cwdt skelettons + chaos golem for additional distraction
-zombies for more physical dmg reduction (flesh binder)
Few ideas:

Null's Inclination Necromancer Witch
Mistress of Sacrifice ~ Beacon of Corruption ~ Spirit Eater
Did you know the Bone and Flesh Offerings are 'minion' skills?
Basically the same as previous Null's Inclination builds with slightly more Chaos damage focus and Summon Skeletons instead of Summon Raging Spirit.
Null's Inclination
Soul Strike
Alberon's Warpath
Some testing shows that you can't have both Bone and Flesh Offering cast at the same time in Null's, so I'd have only one of 'em in there with Summon Skeletons and Poison and some supports for those, depending on sockets.

Spectral Throw Deadeye Ranger
Far Shot ~ Sharp and Venomous ~ Fast and Deadly
All of her nodes apply to attacks and projectiles so she doesn't need to use a bow.
The number of hits from Spectral Throw should work well with the Sharp and Venomous Ascendancy notable.

Spectral Throw Gladiator Duelist
Gratuitous Violence ~ Blood in the Eyes ~ Outmatch and Outlast
Maim chance from Blood in the Eyes should help with positioning.
Maybe an opportunity to link Bloodlust with Dual Strike?
Dragoon Swords
Apply bleed/maim and clear trash with Spectral Throw and finish bosses with Dual Strike.
(Could also work as physical wander instead of Spectral Throw)

Freezing Ice Spear Hierophant Templar
Illumination Devotion ~ Ritual of Awakening
Since I never do well with getting six-links:
Frost Bomb in the gloves for the increased AoE, linked with Increased AoE for more AoE.
Ice Spear + Spell totem + Faster Casting + Critical Strike Multiplier in the helmet for constant freezing critical strikes.
Rashkaldor's Patience
I figure power charge items'll be quite expensive considering some of the new Ascendancies and it should help out with the totems.

Freezing Ice Spear Inquisitor Templar
Righteous Providence ~ Inevitable Judgement ~ Augury of Penitence
Similar to the Heirophant above, but with a focus on self-cast instead of totems.
Because, that crit multiplier on enemies afflicted with an elemental status ailment is pretty nice.
Basically just a self-cast ice spear build, so not all that nut-balls.

edit: OOOH I like your Malediction Occultist idea. I'm running a dual blasphemous TC/Enfeeble 2 handed sword Scion right now, rather tanky lady enjoying the quiet addition of Sweep to the sword repertoire, but if you've ever seen the Witch wield a 2 handed sword, it's a thing of beauty...the way she swings it displays more grace and expertise than *any other class*...

Its probably the most viable out of the three. Hybrid also means you can use crown of eyes, and just focus on spelldamage passives which means you can pick whichever weapon you fancy.

dagger/staff/scepter beeing the most obvious because of vicinity of closeby passives, but the general melee crit nodes are the most important.

But necromancer melee witch with "built in" aegis aurora is definitely the first one i am going to try. Even if it is going to royally blow and forces you to stop every 8 seconds to refresh bone offering. Even if it is going to be clunky as hell. Melee necromancer!
A staff wielding slayer is what i am looking at right now. Main skill will be heavy strike coupled with some of those threshold jewels, all crit ofc.

The question is wether i should go for acrobatics or not.

edit: While thinking about it, is those threshold jewels even worth it?

Your going to Rekt yourself against reflect.

I am playing a 1-hand RT weight of the empire build atm with 4 endurance charges and fortify + some armor and i already rek myself against reflect currently.

Just a heads up :)

Yeah, reflect might be a problem. But i figured a vessel might just work, if not i am going for acro and vaal pact and just let reflect do it's thing.

Another idea i had was to make a deadeye lightning trapper. I don't know if it would be worth it over all these other classes. That +1 chain seems so sweet though.

I'm just going to be really boring, want to roll a new Firestormer. At the very least dual-Cursing with Enfeeble + Temporal Chains, it's just too good and Firestorm kills anyways if it goes untouched.

Occultist: Obvious, strong, can switch down to dual-Curse and gain bunches of ES Regen if I want to. What an Ascendancy. Likely pick.
Guardian: stack Life+ES, bit of armour, reserve Life+Mana? Get some Regen, a bit of PDR, Aura effect. Sure. I'll be using Rallying Cry anyways, and 15% Cast/Move speed is not bad.
Elementalist: loads of Increased Damage from a Fire Golem and a Cloak of Flame. I guess that's neat. Not sure I need more Increased Damage, so the least likely option.
(I-don't-know-what-I'm-doing-yet tree)

Might be even more boring and roll Lightning Arrow, which I've done for almost every league because GMP+Chain LA is so much fun. Pew (???).
Pathfinder, Fletcher/Surgeon. Flasks own bones.
Deadeye, Ricochet/Far Shot. More Chain for chuckles; that's about it.

The long term goal is of course to make an Assassin VRF murderhobo. Always hitting enemies on Full Life, always Critting with VRF. Ever striving towards more and greater VRF explosions, and it's working slightly better every time :P Pfffidunno. Once the league is over, redo it with my Standard league stuff mixed in, and probably a more solid build (I should probably grab Power Charges huh well too lazy to fix that atm).
^For your firestorm, might i suggest throwing in some zombie's?

This would mesh well with a guardian firestormer i assume.

Zombie's run to firestorm area and hold agro, increasing your dps out-put since you can continue casting on stationary targets, as well as providing lovely DR by virtue of meat-shields.

Arguably, consuming darkness + poison linked to zombie's for "wtf do i care" deeps.

Assasin VRF = sick sick sick :D

you can actually forgo any crit stacking and focus purely on crit multy and more/increased multipliers. Alternatively, base pool etc.

Sounds fabtastic.

Peace,

Dual wielding Champion. With the Fortify having a base 20% and a total of 20% increased effect from the Ascendancy class and 15% increased effect from the normal tree, assuming the increases stack, it will have an always active 55% reduction of physical damage.

Increases and Reductions are multipliers: 20 * (1 + (20/100) + (15/100)) = 20 * 1.35 = 27% Reduced Damage Taken from Hits.

Thank you, I was wondering about that.
