[FIXED] Headhunter no longer gives the player buffs when SRS kill enemies

I'm sure it's a bug.According the following vedio, when the golden monster is killed by burning damage which is caused by SRS,summoner can get the headhunter buff.If headhunter is designed to be not apply to summoner, how can that be happen?

GGG can explain this?Don't deny it.

Very good find, thank you! I've added this info to the OP.

This has absolutely nothing to do with this particular case though.

This is an almost ancient bug: When an enemy dies from DoT damage (and after the source of the damage is gone according to GGG_Mark) the kill can not be attributed to that vanished entity due to engine limitation, and instead falls to the player. It's a stated bug by GGG, and intended to be removed when they can upgrade their engine to support the fix.

It works exactly the same with firetraps' burning ground, igniting flame totems and burning/poisoning traps of all kinds (and especially effective together with Southbound gloves).

If you want to try and capitalize on this, try using southbound gloves and give SRS the poison support, I would assume the would attribute all effects to the player again as a short term solution.

I personally am still convinced the change to HH is a bug fix, and it being undocumented is very bad, but not a bug in itself.

Thank you for this clarification, it does indeed seem like a strange interaction. And as for the southbound gloves trick, very interesting!

I can sort of concur that Headhunter with SRS was insanely powerful. Monster auras double dipping with the passive tree aura bonuses and with summons was too strong, but it was did not impact the temporary leagues to the best of my knowledge, especially not right as SRS got overhauld, with the strange new AI. I only find it frustrating that GGG haven't given us a concrete answer about this issue yet.

Here I get two new vedios which show that the player can also get the headhunter buff when the source of the DOT damage still exists.

The number of the spirits is not decreased before the monster die.

You'd better explain this and show me the source of your theory.
I'll just say that they have not forgot about the issue you guys are having, i got the answer i was expecting and won't post it here until they have communicated with you here

Well, there's tons of info, but if you're too lazy to search yourself, here's at least one.

Mark talks about triggering Herald of Thunder on kill effect, but it's the same principle.

Are you serious? Three video is enough to show it was a bug and your theory obviously untenable
The only bit Raye got incorrect is, the DoT source can still be alive and the kill will still be credited to the player. Other than that he's correct about how that particular kill allocation bug functions; it's not theory, it's a fact.
Raye linked to a post by Mark. In that post, note that Mark used the word "might".
Bump, still not work
Yeah patch 2.1.1d didn't have anything to say about HH, shucks.

There is only going to be one of 2 outcomes for this.

1. That it was an unannounced bug fix and it is now in line with the normal minions/kill interactions and it'll be staying that way

Or

2. That it was an unannounced bug fix that they'll revert despite it going against the already established mechanics in the game.

Either way what you want to claim is a bug is actually a fix to a bug that allowed you to abuse game mechanics outside the norm...i can't really see them changing it back, especially given the very small minority posting about it.
